Hi. The C63 is on my shortlist for when the wife can stand me getting a V8 again. How is it so far? Apart from the obvious, one of the main attractions is its apparent lack of issues.
Thanks.
I did but I borrowed the cable from another member. I had the pre-cats gutted when the engine was out. It's so smooth and eager now (the tune gives it a 1:1 throttle) and the gutting makes it growl.

I've owned this car for nearly 10 years, in which time I’ve spared no expense in maintaining and improving it to run approximately 400 BHP. It had done 97k mostly motorway miles when I bought it, so I’ve done less than 5k miles per year since then. It’s been looked after by...
I got it working with a standard SATA HDD so it's obviously something about the SSD.
Anyway, my experiment has had poor results because both devices I've successfully connected still have gaps between tracks (gapless playback was the main reason for purchase).
PetrolDave said he had gapless...
Okay, I tried exFAT but that didn't work so I dug out my wife's old MP3 player and that did work.
So what's wrong with the hardware I'm trying to use? It's a SATA solid state drive in a small caddy and I formatted the drive and put some music on there. Should that work or is it expecting some...
I can't remember the format; whichever is the default when using Windows. I'll try another device. Should pretty much anything work or does it only like certain types of devices?
I've got a 2010 RNS-E (mk. 2) and I've just bought the AMI module, a Kufatec harness and a mini-USB cable (part #4F0051510H). I've connected it to a caddy with an SSD.
After connecting it all up, coding it with VCDS and rebooting, I see the AMI option in the Source menu but it says "not...
It is inevitable with a BBK engine but you should get symptoms beforehand. If you want to do the repair eventually it's probably worth tucking away funds for the event.

The timing chain rattle won't tell you anything unless it's severe. If it's done 100k miles it WILL need a timing service ASAP if it hasn't already been done. This will set you back around £4000 (or half that if you do the work yourself). JHM in California see a lot of these engines and every...
Oh, the ticking that gets slightly louder as the phone moves closer? That's normal.
You don't wanna be paying anywhere near market values if the timing service hasn't been done though.
I've never heard of it failing suddenly - most get camshaft-related codes, etc. first - but at that mileage...
