Is there a list of things that usually go wrong at certain mileages?
Ive tried a search but a3 and mileage comes up in every single thread ever!
remember funky cliffs conversion? that looked really nice and was cheaply done. i want to do that if it is alot cheaper than other options.
I might buy this one. What can I do to the front of it to make it look better? Is it the single conversion thing I've read about? How much is that nowadays? Also, where are the pics of the interior? he has said what it is but not provided pics?!
At 72k, what usually needs doin? Bearing in mind...
Just remembered I made this thread a year ago when I was in Oz

Resurrecting it now.
I cant view the ph link as no flash at work but I am aware of ph so will continue to check. If...
The best one out of those links is a cat d repair an ive been warned off them. Yes Dave I am, I made this screen name when I was about 12 an even tho its really sad its stuck with me.
Hmmm I dunno what to do now. Someone sort it all out for me pleeeeeeeeease!! lol
With regards to modifications, Dane, yeah but i'm not gonna lie, moreso for the aesthetics than performance. I know I'm lame! lol
My main things are that I want leather interior (500 ish?), a nice ICE/sat nav system (300ish?), nice alloys (500ish?). If these do not come with the car I purchase...
it's because i dont want to be paying out for things to be fixed an feel higher mileage - more things to go wrong!
also, when it comes to resale, if its still under 100k i feel it would sell better than if it's done 130k or something. I do about 10k a year an would pay it off in 3 yrs roughly...
I plan to touch it up, using this board as help. :readit: Been a member here for a while an love checkin the pics thread.
Ideally low mileage, no more than 50k. I like leather seats, really hate interior that is a horrible pattern, plain black all the way. Pref black or silver exterior colour...
thanks lex & crypric.
I just don't have that kind of money, I'd be getting a loan an I know even in worse case scenario (**** job) that I could pay back 200 a month easily for 3 years which totals 7000 ish.
As for the leather seats, they are already saved in my bookmarks. If by some miracle...
sweet man, i'll let you know what decide to do when I get back.
saw your thread, how much did that set you back?
What's the best I could do on about 7grand? If I wanted that grill, leather interior, rns thing, blacked out windows?
I wanna do more, but just wanna get an idea. I plan to get...
I don't have a lot of funds either so the cheaper I can do it, the better.
Initially I thought I would have to spend about 9grand, but looking at yours, it can look awesome for a lot less!
Would you be kind enough to list what parts you bought please? Or even still, you could add them to your...
I know mate, but yours is perfect and once I get more into it I can start to do my own tweaks and mods on it, to make it my car.
Where's funkycliff lol?!
Hmmm I can't seem to thank more than one person in this thread?!
NHN, i'm in Australia but will be back in Manchester, UK either Jan or Feb.
Was Funkycliff's a freak one off awesome deal or something?
Thanks for the reply Simon, however on autotrader the starting price for the spec you mentioned is 11grand which is pushing my budget too far. 9 really is my limit, ideally it would be no more than 7!
Funkycliff managed to do this at a cost of under 4.5grand. Perhaps I should PM him?
Hello all, firstly I want to let you know I have been reading this forum for a few days and have used the search button and got alot of helpful info, so thanks. I feel i've learned so much, yet know so little!
A bit premature this, but if I were to buy an A3 and wanted to covert it to a...
