I want to know about this as well cause I've got a very slow leak from the gear box. I went to Audi to ask them about a fluid change and the seal etc and the technician said that I didn't need it changed as mine is a manual ?!
So i'm confused about this subject and need some help too ;)
simply put ... the 'map' is a file held on the ECU (Engine control unit) which tells the engine how to behave. (i.e. injection timing, turbo boost level, fuel mix etc etc) and in turn this gives you a final BHP (break horsepower figure) and torque measurement.
With a remap (which is an update...
bad jokes aside... you could try things like a performance air filter, using V-Power diesel and thorough service... including changing all the filters etc.
£150 would cover that... not sure how much difference you would notice to be honest but its all worthwhile. really you should look at a...
had it done around 4 months ago I think. Not sure if thats the price you'll get as I'm sure they had an offer on and I haggled a bit. but i'm sure it'll be around there... also it's worth pointing out I've had no issues with warning lights or smoke etc since the map and they told me that they...

I used them for my remap. Ended up getting stage 2 from them, really friendly and helpful. Had an issue with a rough idle after the map and they adjusted the idle rpm for me with no quibbles.
Also the performance is now great ;) and mpg has gone up slightly too. Also worth mentioning they have...

no not yet, had my eye on a 2nd hand cluster that was £40 but missed it... was a bit worried that audi wouldnt code the mileage etc. so at the minute im just putting up with the rattle. wish i knew someone that could code the mileage.
anyone had this done?
sounds like the turbo bearing to me ;( sure sign its on its way out... had to have mine replaced for the same symptoms. Lots of threads on here about the problem.
well thats good to know, will my droopy pd140 pipes be an issue and when you say wiring the sensors is difficult... whats involved? Im thinking i may leave them to start with and get them hooked up later.
