I think it quotes in the book x thousand of miles or 5 years etc which ever comes first, I had mine done @ 50K Avant 1.8T Quattro 5 years old even though the book stated 60K, better safe than sorry

It seems I was barking up the wrong tree, The arm of the wiper is U/S so I,ve managed to prise off to have a look, as per all audis its a piece of plastic that has worn, hence no spring back on the rear wiper, you don't happen to know the part number for the wiper unit do you?

Does anyone know how to remove the rear was wipe on an audi a4 avant 2004.
There is a piece of plastic that has snapped or has worn at the rear of the wiper the bit that makes it spring back with pressure and I want to take it off an put a metal pin in its place.

You have the same problem I've got, I too am going to the garage on friday I've got a 1.8t avant 2004, plastic breather snapped off, replaced and now can't find where the leak is. I suspect its from the gasket on the water pump!!!!!!!
:banghead:Yeah Sorry the bleed screw was what was leaking before, I've replaced that and no additional leaking after, but thanks for heads up on that one, I'll carry on searching with a torch!!!!

Not a major leak but a steady loss over a period of 2 - 3 weeks.
I've looked for the obvious around the pipes, and I did find the breather stop on the pipe underneath the lump cover that runs front to back in the engine bay...
