    Does your start/stop disable power steering pump?

    I will need to check. Are you manual or dsg? Not sure about the manual, but on my DSG Golf you can use a lighter braking approach and the engine wont cut. Personally, i just turn it off every time. Dave

    Glad you sorted it, but I dont understand how something that doesnt have fuel near it would make the smell? Was it telling ECU is was cold and putting in more fuel that wasnt being burnt? Just wondered :) Dave

    You dont have to have GAP insurance, but it's highly recommended if you have gone new/leasing etc. I got mine through Quidco with ALA, was just over £100 for 2 years on new Golf R. Dave

    Go into a Police station and stress the car is dangerous and you have seen young children in it being driven on the roads. I would expect they'll be all over it as easy money/stats for them :p Dave
