    A3 clutch issues

I was tempted to possibly get the master cylinder at the pedal replaced first as it appears to only be around £50 for the part. Not sure on labour involved in replacing just that part though.. Any ideas? If that doesn't work then I will have to go for the slave cylinder and whilst they are at...

    A3 clutch issues

Hi all I am looking for some opinions from those who have experienced issues with their clutch over the years, or who just know what they are talking about, unlike myself.. :-) I have an A3 8P 2004 model with 150k on the clock. I bought this with 45k on the clock in 2007 so as far as I am...

    Front airbag sensor replacement

Managed to hammer on a 9mm Irwin bolt grip nut in the end which did the job. Sensor replaced now and fault has cleared. Screw size is M6 x 40 should anyone come across this thread in future.

    Front airbag sensor replacement

I don't think I will be able to get much forward pushing pressure due to the location of these particular screws. I have tried a few things like tapping in a slightly larger torx bit but that has just made it worse and still hasn't budged. I also made a groove with a metal saw in the screw so I...

    Front airbag sensor replacement

Hi I have a faulty front airbag sensor on my 2004 Audi A3. I have sourced a 2nd hand replacement and thought I would replace this myself as it looks to be a simple job from looking at my Haynes manual. Typically this simple job has turned into a nightmare. The problem is the two socket head...

    Auxiliary Heater (Z35) - DTC

Hi all I have done a scan for DTC's on my Audi A3 2.0 TDI 2004 and I have the following 2 DTC's. I didn't even think my car had an Aux Heater? I have looked through the manual and the fuse (F30) is the only thing that mentions the Aux Heater, and there isn't even a fuse in that spot anyway. Can...

    ABS reluctor ring

I didnt manage to get the caliper off the other day, those nuts are so tight its unreal! The screw that secures the brake disc in also is a bit cut up now too. I did however manage to get some light down the back of the brake disc and turn the wheel, the small ring which i assume is the reluctor...

    Car depreciation opinions

Hi all I'm getting a little bored of my 04 A3 TDI now so I have been looking at the A4 Black Editions or the slightly older B8 Special Editions and I like what I see immensely (more so the Black Editions). I've never really been one to buy brand new so I would be looking at something up to 2...

    ABS reluctor ring

Yes, i think they are built into the wheel bearing but I hope to at least visually inspect the abs ring and if it looks to be busted it may have to go into a garage to replace. Funny you ask about whether the sensor was genuine, i was thinking about that being an issue, it is in fact just one a...

    ABS reluctor ring

Hi Those carrier bolts do look a little tricky to get too but hopefully i'll find something suitable in my tool kit. So basically, I need to: Jack the car up Chock the front wheels (bricks should do) Remove the handbrake Remove wheel Remove carrier bolts Remove caliper carrier, caliper and...

    ABS reluctor ring

Hi If i clear the code, it only comes back on about ten seconds after driving off, I have already swapped the sensor so i suspect that in itself is fine. The speed that this sensor reads is intermittant as compared to the other 3 wheel speed sensors, i will try and figure out how to get the...

    ABS reluctor ring

Hi all Just a quick post in the hope someone with experience with the A3 8P ABS system can advise me on an issue I am having with my ABS. I have recently replaced the rear left wheel speed sensor due to a VAG code but the code still remains. I want to inspect the ABS reluctor ring to find out...

    ABS Wheel Speed Sensor

Hi I managed to get the ****** out. I was able to get a long flat head screwdriver down the small gap behind the brake disc and luckily managed to push it out from the front. Annoyingly, I have now replaced the part and after clearing the code, it came back after ten seconds of driving. What...

    Vag-Com error code help/Engine/ABS/Xenon

Thanks Mike, i went there earlier but i did miss the symptoms section for the coolant sensor fault which basically is whats happening so I will look to check the wiring / replace that this weekend. The part doesnt seem to be on Euro Car parts as I normally use them but I can get from eBay or...

    Vag-Com error code help/Engine/ABS/Xenon

Hi Recently, i have a few problems with my Audi A3 2.0 TDI. Firstly, occasionaly, when the car is idle, the usual RPM of roughly 750-800RPM rises to 1000-1100 RPM. This isnt causing me any particular issues but I know it didnt used to do it. I scanned the car using VAG-COM and the following...
