Yeah it is a pain plus you do loose a few other things like window auto close on remote. When I say that they do still close when you press the button but when you let go they stop. On my old system I had it coded so when they start closing they continue after release. But you do get other stuff...
I’ve just read through that and I had that issue with the light switch but didn’t realise till after the install and my lights didn’t work then was chatting with a mate about it. Too be fair it was easy to add the wire after the dash was back in.

I have to admit since I did mine I very rarely use HBA nowadays [emoji23] not long after I finished mine I changed jobs so didn’t really need it anymore. Still glad I did it though.

Got some Pirelli P7 tyres fitted all round. Gonna be removing my 345mm front and 310mm brakes next week as it looks nice but abit excessive for a 1.9tdi lol

Glad you found the problem if you pop the door trim off and check on the loom for the part number you can check eBay for a replacement would be my advice.

Hi just seen this you’re going to have to look roughly in the middle of that rubber boot where the bend point is. The part of the wiring in the picture doesn’t move so won’t flex and break.

Hi was it a red or white cluster? I’ve been able to build them in the past from the engine ecu data but your other option would be to get the ecu, dash and keys etc and have the mileage corrected.

Hi sorry been away for awhile what is the dimmer switch problem? I had to replace my headlight switch when I did mine as the later one have an additional wire/connector. For the convenience ecu I just ran a longer harness to the rear and connected it up there.

IIRC I used VW Touran rear brackets as they were smaller and kind of gauged the position by eye on one side then measured it for the other. I can post some pictures if it would help?
