After a quick trip to the shops I returned home, tried to put the car in reverse to park and heard a big juddering sound. I couldn't engage the gear so I turned the engine off and back on again, clutch pedal is all the way to the floor, gear in neutral and I can't change gears. I pushed the car...
Wow. I got 13k from my first set of Conti Sports Contact 2. And 70% of those miles were in London, where average speed is probably 10-20mph! What the hell!
"Chipping" is just another word for "remapping" as far as I know mate. It's just in the past they would solder a new chip on I believe, now it's software based so it's called remapping. Call them back and tell them you are getting/have got the car chipped and tell them the power increase and you...
Run some quotes through the car insurance comparison sites - confused.com, comparethemarket.com etc, they all have options you can tick including ECU remap (I remember the options were a) more than 10% power increase and b) less than 10% power increase). I am with Admiral and declared all mods...
Thanks for advice, was dead easy in the end I finally got round it today. I tried with my hands to prise off the surround but wasn't happening, and couldn't get in from the bottom as it was too tight a fit. I used a small flat head screwdriver (jewellery type) and popped it off starting from...
Surprised at all the positive comments to be honest, I hardly ever use mine. On motorways I find it's not much use given the inconsistent speeds people drive at and round here there is always traffic so that kind of blows it for me. The only time I use it (and even then not always) is at average...
Hi guys
My cointray got jammed today, I don't know how as there is not much in it. It's recessed into the center console (see pic) and when I press into it it doesn't move at all, so I don't think anything is stuck as then I should be able to feel it move even slightly. Any ideas on what to do...
Get it during the day when there is as much light as possible. And don't be embarassed to have a thorough look at it, especially paintwork etc. Mine had some dodgy paint near one of the rear passenger windows - hard to describe but it was like a dull patch with a weird water type of effect. So...
Why don't you just sell it privately mate? Stick it on autotrader and ebay, whatever you get it's almost guaranteed to be more than 1k more than what Audi will give you for it. Well worth it if you ask me, I really don't know why people part exchange, you may as well sell it on webuyanycar.com...
hello mate, I was doing research into the same thing last month, narrowed it down to these places which seem to have decent reviews out and about. Not used any of them though, let us know how you get on

If you put some welly into it they will screw all the way in, but it does need some force. However you don't want to round the head as then you will need to drill them out next time. I replaced mine with these:

I partially opened up the boot on my s3 to get at them, they are a right pain though. Almost as if they are made of butter as well. I replaced them with a new set from ebay which seem harder wearing
In London I paid £100 last year for laser allignment (Hunter) and wheel balancing for all 4 wheels.
At another garage I recently paid £90 for laser allignment (Hunter), but I can go back as many times as I like within the next 6 months and they will re-allign for free.
I paid about £140 for my s3 20% tints if I recall correctly front and back. It looks mint and most days I like the privacy and it looks good too but to be honest if I was doing it again I would get the front windows a shade lighter, say 35%. My main gripe is when pulling out at junctions...
UPDATE: went to kwikfit today for a quick opinion on whether to get 1 or 2 tyres replaced. The guy there agreed just doing the 1 would be ok so that's what I'm doing this Saturday, will then get it on the motorway for a fast run (dont want to do it now with the bump) and then will get allignment...
Lol @ the comments. Thanks for those :-) The wife was very apologetic and basically burst into a crying fit while she was still driving. There was nowhere to stop though so she had to keep going till the next lights. It's an accident at the end of the day so can't be too harsh but between us I...
