Cheers for the reply Bez [y]
I did also have a look on the rosstech wiki for the fault codes previously. The odd thing is that the car has no starting issues, no running issues, has never been mapped (as far as im aware) and there is no MIL light either.
The one part that got my attention...
Hi all,
A household car has 2 fault codes of which have been cleared numerous times and keep returning.
The first fault is clearly something to do with the engine fans, but before spending a decent amount on a new set is there antything else that could be the issue (as opposed to failed units)...
Hi all, I have a 2005 a3 with the 2 piece centre grille as opposed to the latter one piece.
does anyone have a guide or any tips of how to remove them?
thanks
luke
Many thanks for the reply Adam, however I am ideally trying to keep the costs down...thus, why I was asking about pushing new bushes into the 'old' frames.
A bit more digging seems to suggest that Powerflex bushes would work (but there has not been any definitive reviews) at a cost of about £40...
Hi all,
I am currently upgrading my suspension and components on my A3's suspension (8p 2004 2.0TDi sport). I have put on new shocks & springs, top mounts, ball joints, track rods & ends, and (ARB) drop links...
I think the final missing part is to upgrade the rear wishbone bush (AKA 'console'...
Hi all, I am assuming this is a simple answer...(fingers crossed)
But can anybody confirm whether suspension springs from a 2007 2.0TDI 170 S-Line will fit onto a 2004 2.0TDI 140 Sport, both non-quattro?
Are there likely to be any issues?
Many many thanks in advance for your help,
Luke
Hi all, im hoping someone can help...
Can anyone confirm whether the suspension (Shocks & Springs) from a MK5 fit an A3 (8p)? (exactly the same engine - TDi 140)
Also, does anyone know whther the rear washer wiper motor from a MK5 will fit an A3 (8p)?
Many thanks,
Luke
Hi all,
Just a really quick question. Im looking to do the 312mm conversion on a 2004 2.0TDi, are the carriers I need exactly the same as those that fit the 8L/Golf MK4 chassis?
Cheers,
Luke
Hi all,
I am looking at lowering a 2004 (8p) A3 2.0TDi 140 Sport. However I have a few questions...
Firstly Is there a limit that I can drop the car before I encounter issues (such as the front ARB rubbing/banging)?
The car is currently on 95k miles, so I am going to be changing the shock...
Just to add, it looks like the weight difference is circa 12kgs...

Hi there,
Im hoping some of you may be able to help. As the A3 is now on 95,000 miles and the springs (rear) need changing, im thinking it may be easier to just change all of the suspension (shock and springs all round). I have been offered some new shocks and springs from a MK5 GTI for a good...
Mine threw up the similar fault...but the car sometimes does not like to be started again when warm, but is fine from cold. So I thought the best bet would be to switch the plugs around and see if the fault code changes (especially as the car is on 90k+ miles)?
The car did throw up an engine...
Hi all, as a novice to diesel engines, would someone be able to help me locate where the Glow Plugs are on an 8p A3 (2006)...?
A picture would be very handy!
Thanks in advance for the help,
Luke
Okay, I have cleared the faults and these are the ones that have returned:
