been told you need computer hooking up to get rid of it, something to do with error code being flagged up on ECU, needs clearing with either fault code reader or comp with VAGCOM or some jazz.

lol. i will at some point but getting pics off my phone is a pain so i kinda avoid it :p i don't have any of the heated seat connectors. no wires or connectors. just the socket on seats. i'll get a pic up later :laugh:

yeah, pre-facelift has 2 wires and face lift has 3.

cheers aragorn. there is a bold brown, yellow with blue line & yellow with brown line, all three were on the facelift connector for the air bags. because i now have pre-face lift leathers, i've swapped connectors with blue_thunder and those connectors only have 2 wires instead of three.

Technically I shouldn't need to connect the bold brown if it's for heated seats coz there is no wiring for heated seats right? So that leaves me with connecting the yellow/blue & yellow brown only.

is it safe to connect both brown wires together?

you sure its 60mm back? coz that would mean nose of car would be pointing sky high lol its generally 60 front and 40 back right? coz front arch of car is higher than rear.

for some reason i thought i'd only need the small square for brackets to come through even though i noticed the foam gasket that sits in between console and arm rest lol. i noticed the bracket twisting slight, there are 3 screws that fix the bracket to the console, so i thought it was normal...

AIR BAG LIGHT STILL REMAINS AFTER CONNECTING!! Because i have a facelift a4, i have 3 wires from the original plug/socket, the seats i put in were from a pre-face, i have tried the couple of combinations and still couldn't get the air bag light off, whats gone wrong? blue wire always...

could only find build thread of a red B5, titled RS28. does actually look better, its a nice touch. don't think i can get away with puttin one on a avant lol. it would require chopping and sanding.

at least you are less likely to be scammed from a uk seller. whats bmw compact spoiler look like on B5, i've tried search through Docurley's build thread but couldn't see it anywhere :wacko: could have been fatal!
