They're called Multispline (sometimes called tripple square) bolts, either M6 or M8, I can't remember exactly off the top of my head.

This thread really got me looking into the 1.6tdi consumption.
So today I had a 100(ish) mile drive on mostly duel cariageway, doing 75 or less all the way and got just 53.7mpg. To me that is shocking.
The Audi fugures say that rural driving it will acheive 70 odd mpg, now I'm not daft...
Just been out to the car park to check mine. 4500 miles since Jan and the DIS is showing 46.2mpg.
With it being a company car on a fuel card I don't pay much attention to consumption, but that is dissapointing. My previous Octavia 1.9TDi averaged 48mpg over 55,000 miles
Thanks Chaps, now I know what to search for I found a few threads.
For anyone else interested the part number for the Passat washers appears to be 5MO 955 986 9B9 at around £14 each.
I'll do a bit more digging to ensure they are a direct replacement (there are a few mentions of the...
Hi All, I'm sure this will have been covered before, but the search function wasn't showing anything.
I have a MY2010 A3 which has "normal" stream type washer jets. On my previous Octavia (and previous to that Leon) I had the fan spray type washer, which I personally think are much better...
I have done 2500 miles in mine so far. I had an Octavia with the 1.9TDI engine before it., and a Leon with the 1.9TDI before that.
On paper both engines are the same, but the 1.6 being common rail is much smoother and more refined. As with the 1.9 it could do with a little more umph, but...
Is it the equivilent to the parking lights we have over here? Leave the left or right indicator (turn signal) on with the keys removed and the sidelight and tail light on that side of the car stay illuminated.
Thanks.
I've been doing a bit more digging this afternoon, and it looks like I'd be into a whole load of pain trying to fit an aftermarket one.
Anyone got good* links to suppliers of the RNSE OEM unit?
* not dealer prices
Hi All
I have a quick question I'm sure you will be able to answer.
I have a new A3 arriving in the new year, and have had thoughts of replacing the standard concert CD player with an aftermarket double DIN Sat Nav unit.
All I want to know is:
1, Will I need an adapter place for the...
Does anyone have interior pictures where a Parrot CK3100 has been installed?
I'll need to fit one in mine when it arrives, but can't see a suitable place for it (without it looking "stuck on") IYKWIM
Just ask your mate to use matt laquer (it exists)
The parts should all come apart, but some will be easier than others, as for the gear surround, pop it off and take a look on the underside, there might well be a couple of screws holding the D-R-N etc bit on.
The springs don't really wear out as such, but it could be not returning all the way back down if it has corrosion or a build up of crud.
Put the wiper in the service position and lift the arm, give the spring a good old squirt or WD40 (or whatever you have) to clean the crud out (the spring...
It was removed to stop the problems of fuel fires started by static sparks. If you have to hold the trigger you stay earthed. Using the lever lock, you can move away from the nozzle, get staticly charged and then spark when getting hold of the nozzle again, this could cause a fire ball with the...
Looks great, but one thing to bear in mind when getting the lugs cut off and the spoiler bonded onto the tailgate, is that if at any time in the future your rear screen needs replacing then the spoiler will need to be removed, and doing that to one that has been bonded on 99% of the time means a...
I forgot to come back to this thread with an update, sorry.
I now have on order a Ibis white 1.6TDI CR sportback SE with Concert CD, Interior light pack, luggage and storage packs, and Flat tyre warning indicator.
Delivery first thing in the new year.
I just doesn't sound right to me. If a crank is either cracker or broken then the parts would be coming out the side of the block.
Worn teeth to me sounds more like a flywheel crank alignment issue, maybe the crank hasn't been machined very well so the flywheel isn't perfectly central, causing...
I see what your saying, but it has aircon as standard which clears glass perfectly well.
I'm going for Ibis white, can't decide if privecy glass will look too dark on white or not
