Might be worth checking the leads are securely on the battery as it might be something as simple as loose terminal. It's free to do and only takes a minute.

I couldnt find any torque settings either mate.
I ended up just doing everything up as tight as I could - obviously this is not suitable for wishbone bolts though.

Yes get warning for fuel low...not sure about seatbelt, never drive with it off.
I will have a look with VCDS as you suggest and go from there.

So back to my original question, there should be a buzz when the lights are left on and key removed and door open.
Is it a case of turning this on in VAGcom or is there a fuse for this that I should check first? Does it work on the same door switch as the interior light?
