Hi buddy.
Yes that is indeed High Wycombe. Where abouts are you? I can travel as long as its not 100+ miles (I realise I'm in no position to make demands but I have to factor in petrol the old girls very thirsty).
Hi Gents,
Need a favour. My wifes 3.0 v6 a4 avant has developed a problem. I need somebody to plug her into vagcom and see what the fault codes are so I can identify and fix it. I live in Wycombe but will travel to you if anyone can help.
In a nutshell the problem is an intermittent...
I see. Its kind of put me off tbh. I've done some digging and its a very common problem. Very few cars seem to have the oil accumilators fitted and the ones that have are well looked after with the relavant premiums.
I'm after something as a second car that I can still have fun in. I owned a...
Thanks that's some good advice. Is this a very common problem with the 4.2 v8 unit? Will all suffer from it at some stage or will regular oil changes prevent it (I'm a big advocate of changing the oil every 5k or 1 year whichever comes first).
Guess the the control arms/bushes are to be...
Thanks! It's not for sale the S4 will be an extra car. Hanging onto the Porsche as its gone up 40% in value just since I've had it. It's the last hand built air cooled model built and collectors are going nuts about them at the moment.
Bought the Mrs a 3.0 Avant (b6) a few years ago and it's...
Hello everyone.
Used to post on the B5 forum a few years ago. Bought a Porsche 911(993), sold the quattro and have been off these forums since then and over to the 911uk forums. The porker is my daily driver and I use it as Porsche intented and do not wrap it in cotton wool or only drive it on...
Hello Farquare. I hear you. If you didnt notice at the time more than half of these guys are in their late 40's and older. I bought one before I joined any forums. I was the guy giving the advise on DIY's etc 90% of the time even driving to somebodies house once to fix their exhaust out of...
Hello ninenails. Good to see your still on the board. I had some bother too when ordering them. I actually wanted them to say "Audi Quattro" but they refused to use the word "audi". They were a bit reluctant to use "quattro" but a score persuaded them otherwise. I'm pretty sure it was JustMatz -...
I will be keeping the 993 and buying the RS6 as a daily. I 've got a Nissan as a daily at the mo but its pretty mundane to drive so fancy a change up. The driveway is a pain in the ****, the porker usually sits under a cover during the week as its only a weekend toy.
Cheers for the vote up...
Hello All,
First and foremost the more seasoned posters may remember some rather unusual posts a few years ago. A disgruntled ex-employee took it upon himself to play silly buggers with my forum accounts (not just this one). Anyway I was relieved to find that after a year or so my account is...
HELLO MY OLD VOR SPRUNG FRIENDS!!!!......
I am out of rehab now and sane again. However. I have to inform you all that Factionone's buying up plastic ducting by the tonnes for use in conjunction with shake and vac. His cat also smells of gearbox oil and old people.....
Hope everyones...
Sikaflex 252. This is what held my rear bumper Votex attachment on and my sideskirts for about, ohhhhhhh, oh dunno 2 years? ****** excellent stuff. It was also used to pack out my rear diff mount and gearbox mounts for an extra rigid ride. Cant reccomend highly enough, but does take a while to set.
Thats very true Aragorn.......Renault 21 turbo, now theres a thought! A stripped out one with stock performance ran a 13.2 second quarter a few years ago (and when I say stripped out I mean ****** everthing!). This was in "quadra" guise. Renaults attempt at the quattro throne. Back in the day it...
Being an avid reader of PPC I remember the £999 challenge from last year and the year before. Remember the Saab 9000 did very well placing I think a close 3rd? In aero form its 225 bhp out the box and a £15 bleed valve takes it to 240 by upping the psi around 8. No ECU remap needed untill its...
HA HA !!! Yep! Thats exactly what I told myself......Then I sold her......Then I spent 25k on a 993. We're all screwed for life. This is a bug for "ze german" cars that never goes away. Hope your well anyway dude. Thought I would pop back here for a jolly!
I am. Looking forward to taking her out at night on the b roads with the sunroof open. The sound it makes is phenominal. The 993's were the last of the aircooled porsche andsound quite different to more modern ones with water cooled engined that were designed by the accountants! Its got a new...
