    1.8TQS rear end saga continues..

Thanks Aragorn, That was my thinking originally, I even pursued the case with AP who were less than helpful after just 2 months of use, giving me the option to remove the shocks, send them in for testing and replace if they were found to be faulty, if not then pay for AP to send them back to me...

    1.8TQS rear end saga continues..

Hi guys, As you may have gathered I don't get to post on here much but the advice I do get is always very helpful so any opinions would be very much appreciated. Basically long story short, fitted AP coilovers to my 2000 TQS and ever since there has been a knocking noise from the NS rear when...

    Strange 1.8T problem

I've put that to him, I assume the level sensor is in the tank somewhere and could have been damaged or something when it was flushed then?

    Strange 1.8T problem

Hi guys, I'm posting this on behalf of my friend. He has a 2004 1.8T Quattro Sport which has recently started to have issues, it started to run very lumpy, general lack of power which was traced to a hole in a one way valve in the vac circuit, great, fixed, job done, car back to normal. A week...

    modifying chrome mirrors

Morning all, I've recently come into a pair of genuine S4 chrome mirrors, bit tired and oxidised, typical milky white marks on them, my question is does anyone know how well they will stand up to polishing? I assume they must be chrome plated? I bought them advertised in poor condition with...

    TQS CV joint confusion

Hi all, I'm hoping someone can help me out here as I've a bit of a boo boo buying the wrong CV joints for my 2000 TQS. I counted the wheel side external splines in the hub of which there are 33 I seem to have bought 38 tooth versions, trouble is the only 33 tooth joint ecp list is for a 2.8 with...

Remap for my tqs, is it worth it?

Aragorn, you mention that the AGU ecu is more or less plug n play - is it really that simple? no messing about with immobilisers etc?

    Reading/oxford

Yes, you could do a lot worse than give Chris Bourton a call, he's based in Bicester and works on these cars every day and knows them inside out, he recently rebuilt an S4 and picked up a lot of things which had been missed by another well known Audi specialist. I wouldn't go to anyone else...

    A4 Tqs Rear Diff Seal

Hi all, Could anyone point me in the right direction for the rear diff output seals? the part number I've managed to find online (I think?) is 01A 409 400 B Would anyone with ETKA mind checking this is right for a 2000 TQS? also if anyone has any links to handy replacement guides I'd be very...

    Very tired. But very happy.

Yes they do look white don't they? odd.. just a regular silver face with a polished lip, although the face will be bronze when I'm finished. I'm sure someone will correct me, but I gather they were an option on the first A6, made by BBS under the A! brand? they have "Avantgarde" pressed into...

    Very tired. But very happy.

So I've been meaning to do this ever since I got the car last year, it came from a good home and although the previous owner had taken care of it, the paint was looking a little tired and hazy after spending most of it's life parked by a spiky bush! so over the last week or so I've been prepping...

Ok mate thanks, I only filled it with triple QX as it was on offer at ECP so had planned to change it again next week anyway

*tick tick tick* (hopefully not boom)

BIG thanks to Aragorn! I wasn't brave enough to do the 50/50 flush so opted for the 500ml instead, the old stuff came out as thin as water after ten minutes on fast idle, no obvious gunk after I strained it through a coffee filter, but refilled with some 5W 40 and oh my god what a difference...

Brilliant, just found an old thread from Matt82 that aragorn commented on concerning facelift and pre facelift temp monitoring methods, seems he had the same issue as me oil temp wise, gets to about 85, then just goes mad! so far loving this forum, much more informed than uk passats!

Thanks for that chap, not sure I can shell out the £100 on a sump sensor at the moment, if I replace it with a cheap one and the readings are still all over the place I'll just put the OE one back in if its working as it should
