Hi Guy's
I was wondering if anyone has come across this before, A red oil can warning light with a beep came on the dash today whilst out, has anyone any idea what this could be, a lot of american forums say it will either be the oil pressure switch faulty or the pick up pipe blocked.
Help...
Hi Guy's,
I'm sure the engine speed sensor is on it's way out on my 2003 1.8T, iv'e been searching through the net trying to find a part number but have had no joy. Would anybody be able to help as i need to get hold of one asap.
Many Thanks
Thanks mate for the info, the wife had informed me yesterday that the wipers seemed really slow. I must admit carrying this out today has really tried my patience (what a pain in the ****). I found it to be the drivers side spindle to be seized solid so god knows how they were working. I...
Hi Guy's, just thought i'd give a quick update for future reference if needed on the issue i have recently had with the rough idling on my 1.8T (163) BFB. Found the cause to be the Crankcase breather valve that had perished inside and possibly the Breather tube that had seen better days and was...
Hi mate, just after a bit more advise, when i took the breather valve out yesterday i noticed a lot of gunk in the pipework, do you think this will be same throughout the metal pipes aswell. My cars an 03 plate and done 63k so while i'm fitting a few new parts do you think it worth cleaning them...
Sorted guy's, i dug a bit deeper on the forum and looked in the and found a possible cause, i took the crankcase breather valve off to confirm and it was this that had failed. Ordered the parts from TPS in Derby, part numbers below if anybody already hasn't got them. In all the parts cost me £40...
Hi,

Anybody had this issue before...
Hi All,
Just wondering if anyone can help, i'm looking into buying just a cheap fault code reader off ebay to carry out a few checks. Iv'e seen some (u280 / u281) on there for about £24 delivered but they are a bit vague as to what models they are for.
I have a 2003 a4 b6, if anyone can help...
Yes mate it goes around the corners easily and the adhesive is strong too, just be sure to remove the protective film off the chrome side. Other than that it should match your top grille nicely.
Garfe - I forgot to answer your main question, i wouldn't say it's oem, more individual i think. it sits about 3mm so it doesn't stick out far and the adhesive is strong so it bends and sticks easily. (be sure to remove the top coating of the chrome as at first i thought it was a dull colour...
Hi Garfie, iv'e got no bigger pic's to put on yet but i can give you the detail from where i bought the chrome stripping from.
Ebay - search for 'Car chrome 7mm'
(the 7mm sits nicely one the grille edge but its up to you'
comes in 7mm x 3m self adhesive from approx £4.50 upwards
For the...
Thanks for your opinions guy's, I am now unsure what to do. I think i might try the original top back on tonight and see what it looks like. I like the pic's from 'nanafagis'.
Hi Guy's, could you give me your honest opinions please on the lower grille, i bought some chrome s/a stripping off ebay for £4 to break the lower grilles up. It looks ok but i'm thinking of putting the original top chrome grille back on to match it up. Be honest please...
Can i ask how much kwikfit charged you for re-gassing as i'm thinking of getting mine done, i could have the same issue but can't be sure until i get the gas checked.
Thanks
Quattro james - no the light isn't on mate, just lights up when normal heating/cooling mode is selected. the temperature from all vents seems to be warm and you can feel a difference in humidity. Going off what you have commented on i think i will see if i can get it pressure tested.
