thanks sirmarky, altho, not really what i wanted to hear. Think ill do the same. Ill try it with out taking the cam pully off, but if i cant get it ill take the pully off.
I was wondering if this can be replaced without taking off the timing belt or taking off the front bumper/slam pannel.
I was hoping I could take off one cam and take out the CCT out the side or dose the cam pully have to come off as well?
it would be easier if this was the case.
Any write...
im sure there is an emulsion paint you can get from b&q which is almost as good as some expensive proper cinima screens.
try a google search, its like b&q or dulux brilliant white or something.
ive never seen the results my self but cant imagine it would be that bad if its for out door use...
changed this the other day, got mine from audi for 140 quid plus the copper sleave. there are a few differant types, i got the wrong one the first time round. later models have a metal bit on the sensor with a 6mm securing bolt. the early ones are a press in type. models with xenon lights have a...

wheel bolts. it boils my **** when the wheel bolts are not greased.
to be fare, if its a b5 and the bolts arnt already seized then they are either already greased or wont need to be. most bolts your best waiting till you take them out for a job then grease them before re-fitting
you can slide...
yes twenty to thirty quid is cheap but it would take hours to remove the front end to get the replacement pipe in place. which was not a job i was looking forward to do to replace one pipe. the copper should be fine i made a bracket to hold the copper from moving and fracturing.
you can never have too much light in a garage. a top tip would be to position the lights so they are not above the car, but along the sides as most of the time you would probably be working in the wheel arch. think about where you will be standing so as you are not working in your own shadow all...
After yesterdays escapades I thought Id write up what has happened to make s4 owners aware of this possible problem.
When doing a routine oil change I noticed a steal pipe running from the oil cooler weep coolant. On further inspection it seems that the metal pipe has corroded through to a...
ye its for the oil cooler. ive got the pipe loose but gets so far then gets stuck. i think its the kink thats getting jammed. im wondering if you can twist it round a certin way then slide it between the three nuts on the engine mount. i can see me having to cut it to get it out then join it...
did exactly the same thisng a few weeks ago. bought a socketed allen key ready for the job. i bought a 12mm didnt i not a 14mm. 20min drive sorted that to find the bolt was solid and chewed the hex so i had to drill it out anyway.
haynes is pap. the only thing there good for is torque...
i was doing an oil change today and noticed a drip coming from this pipe. its a metal pipe and has cracked at the y somewhere. im struggling to get it out. anyone managed this without taking the front engine mount off?
i have noticed that when the previous owner of my car changed the suspension to adjustable coilovers, the feedback pot and linkage arm for the xenon auto level has been left un attached. im assuming this is supposed to be attached to a bracket on the original shock. however the new shock has no...
