Hi All, I am looking at having the disks and pads changed on my 2000 S3 (APY), with a fluid change included.
Im only putting std disks on with decent pads and decent fluid in.
Can anyone give me an idea on the level of cost i would be looking at inc labour. Just so i know im not being over...
Check out this link mate...this is what i used. although i didnt have to remove the dipstick tube....was just careful enough not to put too much pressure on it.

Haha...my problems came the other way round....changed the thermostat first....which was a pain in the *** but manageable without removing too much stuff (due to me having small hands - no jokes plz...haha).
I did it without having to drain the system too.....but u have to be quick when actually...

To be honest, I sent it there cos it desperately needed doing and i had no time to do it myself. Was fed up with having to wait till the car cooled down for it to start.
Plus, the overfuelling cos poss damage the CAT etc.
Well they ran a diagnostic on it and it came up with the temp sensor....so they have changed it and ssay everything is hunky dory now.
£190 lighter for an Intermedite service, diagnostic and to change the sensor. (£50 for the sensor and labour though)
Gutted as i could have got one for £20 and...

Il see what the garage come up with....if they dont come up with the CTS, il have a bash at changing it at the weekend.....Il prob change the coil packs as well....just to renew them as i have no idea how old they are.

My 2000 APY S3 has developed a problem which has been getting worse over the last 2-3 months.
My problem is when the engine is warm. If i turn off the ignition and then try to start it again, It will turn over but not fire.

Changed my Longitudinal Accelleration Sensor at the weekend.....End result.....RESULT....ABS Light has gone off and stayed off....not had chance to do another scan yet though to check the fault has gone.
Just need to sling it back through the MoT and we're good for another year

they had to order it from the factory as it wasnt one they kept in stock.....so had to take full payment to order it.
just glad i dont have to pay someone to fit it

Jeeeezus!!! talk about trying to rob you blind......Id hope they had a comfortable bench for you to bend over when they gave you those quotes. Most of the jobs you mention are easy enough to do with basic tools and a trolley jack. you just need to have half a clue.

have you run VAGCOM on this to get a fault code? i have exactly the same thing and have had it through the summer also.
my fault code is..01271 Positioning motor for Temp flap (V68) blocked or no voltage - Intermittant.
im guessing this has something to do with mine, as well as a faulty...
