Another 8L Track Car - Lets get ready to 'Ruuuuuuuumble'!

As all of you are aware - I currently am not an Audi owner, which is a bit strange for me after 5 years with 2 different 8Ls. So, my plans to rectify this are pretty straightforward. Myself and my brother have decided that a track car is going to be an immense amount of fun. So, another 8L...

    Bye bye Bumble. :-(

Bumble was sold on Saturday morning, and has gone to live up north in Durham. My opportunity to say thanks to all for help over the many moons of being Bumble's owner. Many things been tried and tested. Some failed, some successful. Many many thanks to Bill for all his time, and patience with...

Finally, I have accepted my need for bigger brakes....

As title, many of you will now be glad to hear I have decided it's time to put some bigger anchors up front. I have now warped my 6th pair of discs this year....(various brands tested) which has made me decide to change them. So far that's approx £720 in discs this year. Seems daft when you...

    Bumble is poorly....

Bad news. Bumble is poorly. To give you some background on this.... I've done around 35000 miles since rebuild back in Feb 2010. All has been good, we've seen a host of different setups together on the 1.8t platform, and it's all been good. However - I have never been able to get rid of...

    Odd question...

All, looking for some thoughts here... (apologies for not putting it in the TT section, but won't get a suitable answer there) We all know that the TT/S3/R32 etc has the forged wishbones on the front. Very big, thick and expensive... It's got a knocking from the NSF (I think) which is...

    'Wellycooler' fitting

As I have been getting a lot of PM questions about these - thought it might be worth listing what is needed in a thread just about this particular cooler. For this fitting method you will HAVE to remove fog lights, and is for engines with inlet manifold with TB on the right hand side, and...

    Sounds expensive.... lol.

I suspect my rear diff may well be of the way out. Well, more specifically the Haldex clutch pack. The other day, I nearly s**t my pants when driving down the A38 in the wet, I put my boot in in 6th to overtake and the front wheels lit up. So that would be the Haldex not working then...

    Brake Upgrade

Due to popular demand (by you moaning lot) I have been considering a brake upgrade. Now, as far as I'm concerned, the S3 brakes suit me just fine. I hit the stop pedal, it will happily slow down from whatever speed quickly... However, I decided to give it due thought.... Obvious choices...

    Maybe another slight engine tweak...

OK, so we're off again. Maybe my last turbo change wasn't the last after all.... :-/ So, the plan is to install the old Forced Performance Green turbo from Bill's Ibiza race car onto the S3. Hopefully should be a nice easy one (famous last words...) as everything is a pretty much identical...

WMI and Throttle Bodies - Possible but unconfirmed effects.

Morning all. It seems there may be a potential problem with the post intercooler WMI setup often used, including by myself... There is a possibility, and it's not for definite, that the Methanol over a period of time can eat through the Throttle Body's seals to the electronics. Methanol is...

    XS Power Downpipes & Manifolds

Well, after much work being done to the downpipes.... they are now pretty much ready and won't be longer than a few weeks until available. I have had the previous threads on the subject locked (Thanks Tuffty) and any further discussion needs to be here. So.... what's been going down...

    My birthday pressie - a photoshoot :)

OK, not much to say here apart from the fact that the girlfriend got me a photoshoot for the car for my birthday.... Epic. :) So so many photos, however I will stick a few up here for all to see.

Fault Diagnosis time.... (We all love this)

OK, so let me give you the basics... Loud humming, grindy sound which gets worse with speed. Definitely a rotational noise. Minorly affected by turning whilst driving. Not affected at all by dipping clutch, coming out of gear etc etc. If the wheels are doing over X speed, then she's...

    TT project thread....

Hi all. Not posted here before due to being an 8L S3 owner.... However, I have now bought a TT, mainly for the missus to drive about, but also for when I sell the S3. So... I went out and bought a project car basically. A TT Quattro 180. Here it is: The car was bought...

    Stock Diverter Valve

I know many of you on here fit 007Ps and then do away with the OEM DV. Question - does anyone have one that is in workring they want to send me? I'll happily pay the postage. It's for a mate of mine who is skinto and his DV on his MK4 Golf is creamed... Trust me it's a worthy cause... PM...

Basecode download & Sort of guide

Hewwwo people. I finally got round to turning on my Anti Hijack on the S3 using VAG COM last night, obviously using the 'basecode' software. The reason for this thread is that the links to download the basecode software seem to be dead now annoyingly. I have a copy and have uploaded it so...
