Hi all, I'm thinking of getting a high mileage A6 2.5 tdi Avant as a winter "hack" and load lugger for my house extension. I currently have an RS6 so I know of the fragile gearboxes, but wondered how the auto in the 2.5 tdi fared? Also, how are the 2.5 v6 engines? Many thanks

Yes, you're right. On the subject of HU's, I like the alpine units as I've had them in the past and I like them. I need a unit the will operate a iPhone and charge. I was looking at the alpine units 104 and 105. The 104 is better spec'd, but I need 3 pre outs for my amp. Thx again

Just read that the standard unit is pretty pants, so might change this as well. As the RS6 Saloon boot is huge, dont think i'll have much problem fitting almost any sub in :yes:

Well, I finally got there and with extra help from dgsdale, I managed to get them off. I agree, they are easy, once you know how. The bit that stick me was getting the window switches out, so I have attached some pics to help people visualize what they need to do.
