Not sure, havn't had to do mine yet, but I reckon the door would to have come off and the electrics disconnected.
Getting the pins themselves out could be the most awkward bit.

Theres a few good links here on how to do your pads. I just done mine on Friday. Its handy enough if you have the proper tools.
Just wondering if anybody knows how often these oils have to be changed. The cars just done 60,000 miles and not sure if any of them have been changed before.
ok, i get ya now. was thinking i might need to buy something else along with the cable. Any chance of a pic of your screen beside the esp button? mine wont fit there without mods. did ya have to move your ESP button?
Both keys wouldn't open the door. They turned in the lock okay, just wouldn,t pop the button. The dash lights came on this morning, the engine didn't turn over though.
Left a light on in the car last and battery was flat this morning. Neighbour had jump leads and sorted me out. I took the car for a spin to charge up the battery, came home and parked up.
Went out two hours later and key wouldn't open the door, spare key the same. Opened the car via the boot...
I've got a new problem now though.
The car used to idle at around 900rpm. Now after the engine warms up, the rev counter is jumping between 900 and 1000 rpm.
Any ideas of what would cause this?
So I checked the sparkplugs. Found the plug with the loose coilpack wet. Replaced coilpack and all plugs.
The car ran ok for an hour, then emissions and epc light came on.
Got the car on vagcom and it give lamda and crankshaft positional sensor faults.
Replaced both sensors and the car's...
