Other than trawling eBay and t'interweb, can anyone recommend a place to get a bumper for a 2001 S3? Also, would you think it would be worth looking for one with parking sensors already or better to transfer the sensors from the current bumper? They work fine just the plastic are they sit in...

Ok so it's definitely the battery. Multimeter was reading 12.5v before I started the car and 12 with the appliances on and revving to 2k. Question now is, will a fully charged battery get me the 45 miles needed to get it to my parents where all the tools are?! :-s

Well it looks like the alternator's given up. Batteries not charging and the light's come up on the dash. Does anyone know where I can get a reconditioned one for a good price or if there's anything else I should check before I order it? Cheers all

Cheers peeps. Seems as though it's cheaper to drive from Kent to Leeds than get the train or fly. Even the coach is £40 and that takes 6 hours there and 7 hours back. Sod that for a game of soldiers!

Morning all, any ideas what mpg on a 2001 S3 with Revo Stage 1 and SPS controller running on V-Power would be compared to normal? Motorway driving mainly. I'm doing a drive up to leeds and currently have the SPS set to 98 which obviously set's the boost up. Would it be more economincal...

The end that connects to the ballast is too narrow. It should be double pin but its only a single. This link might work If you look at a proper S3 ballast cable you'll see it's different

I'm with you on that one. I used to have GSD3's on my Leon and they were great. Think I paid around £104 a corner inc fitting for them back in the day though

Cheers for the bulbs NHN, if I ever get to put them in I'll let you know. That's not the right cable golf. Figured that out after buying it and taking the bumper off to realise the connector is wrong (d'oh). Cheers anyway. Anyone know where I can a replacement ballast cable other than a scrappy?

Hold down the button near the clock until it turns off matey. You'll get the lcd symbol with lines through it when it's off

alternatively you can download GIMP. No it's not sexual, it stands for GNU Image Manipulation Program. It's not quite as good as photoshop in terms of ease of use but it's 100% free.

Headlight started playing up and cutting out again. I took off the casing again today and straight away I could smell burning, not good. Here's the damage Bulb: You can see where the part of the bulb that is supposed to hold on the power cable was snapped off by the **** that took it apart...

um...maybe it's on hydraulics?

Had a look today and found the problem see where the central unit has come off of the adjustment runners. Took off the motor unit (I think) and pulled it on with some needlenose pliers, not sure how long it's going to hold on for. Looks like someone has had it apart before, hopefully avoided...
