    Ferodo DS2500

There's little to no point upgrading the rear pads as well. You might as well stick to OE. Cheaper and the rears don't do enough braking to warrant a pad upgrade. Sadly I can't advise too much on where to buy the S3 pads, but I bought mine (Brembo) from Camskill. As long as you know the code...

    Brake Cooling

Cool beans, I'll have a look next week when I have a chance to look at the car more closely. I'll see what I can work out then. Thanks for the help :)

    Brake Cooling

Don't really want to replace the fog lights and I have to allow that air to get to the Intercoolers anyway. Running from underneath the car might work though. So I could get away with just running some ducting for the track day then I guess. What part of the braking system should the duct point...

    Brake Cooling

Morning everyone, I am running Brembo monoblock calipers (from a Clio 197 of all things) with custom Goodridge hoses, Ferodo DS2500 pads and EBC Ultimax vented discs so it is capable of producing serious heat. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with additional brake cooling on an S3...

    Help With S3 Tyre Choice

I personally use the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 tyres. Around £110 a corner. Super grippy in all conditions, but of course the flip side is the longevity could be better (though this is my first set of Asy 2s, been using Asy 1s previously). I've heard good things about the Falkens but they...

    Door blade removal tips

Out of interest Jojo, why do you suggest new screws? I'm planning on having my trims off soon so I can repaint them (meant to do it already. Typically)

Plastidip & The Chrome Grill Surround

In all honesty, I quite like the rings being chrome so just didn't want to :)

Plastidip & The Chrome Grill Surround

Consider myself told! Well, it seems to be fine for now, but I'll bear that in mind for future. I didn't particularly want to rough up the chrome surface of the grill surround in case I want to go back to chrome at some point, but I'll be using a scotch pad on the side blades. I'll see if I can...

Plastidip & The Chrome Grill Surround

Afternoon chaps, Figured I'd introduce you guys to my latest handiwork :) Welcome to Plastidip! The "Multi-Purpose Rubber Coating". I've bought some of this stuff as it was recommended by some guys on another forum to paint the plastics on your car. Specifically for me, this is useful as my...

    Ferodo ds or ebc ???stuff?

Another vote for DS2500s. They really are amazing pads. I managed to boil Motul 600 fluid at Bedford with Red Stuff pads so I'm now using Castrol SRF with DS2500s which last better. Sadly I haven't had a chance to really put them through their paces but it's definitely stopping better with the...

How much oil does your vehicle consume?

Haven't needed to top mine up in ~12k Probably worth checking more frequently! Normally get it replaced every 10k but that was when I did european roadtrips and trackdays. Sadly I haven't done either in the last 12 months :(

Starting the S3 with low fuel stutters

I've had this problem for quite some time and had the temp sender replaced in that time. And the thermostat. This non-return valve sounds like it could be the culprit. Once it gets going it doesn't seem to be a problem, I'm just worried about the long term effects of this on other components.

Starting the S3 with low fuel stutters

Indeed, I tried the two times prime approach and it started fine with a low fuel load. I've not noticed mine priming when I open my door, but it definitely primes when I turn on the ignition (without crank). I'll have a listen later when I get back to the car.

Starting the S3 with low fuel stutters

I'll give that a go later. If it is the Non-Return Valve, how does one go about replacing it?

Starting the S3 with low fuel stutters

Hmmm, I just find it strange that the amount of fuel in the tank plays such a large part in how well it starts. If it was a drop of pressure in the fuel line, is there a way I can remedy this? I can't imagine the spluttery start is doing the engine much good! Can I measure the AFR with...

Starting the S3 with low fuel stutters

Hi guys, so I'm sure this is probably the fuel pump, but thought I'd ask for confirmation. When my S3 (AMK) starts from cold, the amount of fuel in the tank dictates how well it starts. With a full tank, it virtually switches on, however with the tank running low (less than a quarter...

Time to upgrade my front brakes

I've got the Brembos from a Clio 197 amusingly, though they're also used on the R26 and R26.R. Mono-block so lighter than the LCR Brembos and have a slightly larger piston size too. It's a bizarre setup I'll grant but it's mighty. I'm running LCR EBC Ultimax disks and DS2500 pads. Only...
