No idea how many there are they only seems to be in early b7s then the 2litre took over
Hopefully they were still using steel in the conrods and good shells before they started using cheese as in the BXE , BKC .

Then the conversation went on to 2 litres so i just wanted to clarify as i hadnt heard anything about the BRB 1.9 so was just checking it was only effecting certain 2 litre diesels
In fact you dont hear much about the BRB 1.9...

where would you go too look for a b6 either s-line (gmbh) or votex kitted
i dont mind saloon or avant , petrol only
ive searched the usual pistoheads , ebay etc but so far not having much luck
it always the way when your looking for a car
any ideas where else to look

I loved my B5 S4
few tweaks and you have a car with as already said a fantastic sound track and awesome power delivery which still puts a hell of a lot of cars to shame .
I did mine and had exactly the opposite results
no smoke and the turbo spooled up ever so slightly quicker
decat on a diesel is only good in my experiance on various diesels .
If this is right which i agree it should be and its only implemented at the end of april
in there rules and regs any car that has modifications to the airbags will still fail in the month of april
this shows the mentality of what so many test stations have too put up with from yet another...

thats another mine field
already had a seminar and theres no more scheduled for a while
also not due a refresher course for another 3 years
problem is whats said on seminars and refresher courses is " whats it say in the manual "

Yeah until your local VE comes round and catches you not failing a car and says "whats the manual say"
if its in the manual it has to be adhered to and until its there in black and white a tester is just asking to be busted for not failing an item clearly stated in the manual as a fail .

1. As far as practicable, check that all airbags fitted as ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT are present and not obviously defective.

as above also the pinch bolt generally is siezed in and bends through the clamps and can be a ****** to remove also new pinch bolt is required
When i do them i always change both the front and rear one as you have already done most of the work
Time wise it dependes on the pinch bolt and the...
i doubt they will amend it as that is straight off the computer system word for word thats the fresh update , you never know but i will be suprised if they do .
