    A6 (C5) changing sidelight bulbs

Apparently supposed to twist and pull, but i found likewise that just pulling seemed to do the trick. I still twist just to be safe.

    A6 (C5) changing sidelight bulbs

No, but it is tight on the drivers side. With some fiddling the rear case should come off and out, giving you the room to locate the two wires connecting to the side light bulb and twist anticlockwise and pull. You do need a fair bit of pulling force, but be careful not to overdo it.

    Insurance

Insurers will reassess their pricing at least annually based upon claims experience. Many car insurers are faced with higher claims cost over recent months due to the adverse weather we've had resulting in a lot more prangs, etc. It is also not unusual for a new customer to be offered...

    front doors sticking :s

Mine are the same. Have had to get in to my car via the rear doors a couple of times this year, and by the time i've driven for 20 minutes, the front doors open fine. I assume that there is a small amount of moisture in the mechanism that stops the doors unlocking when the temp drops sub zero...

    Passenger door wont open?

Perhaps an obvious question, but have you tried to open from the inside using the handle? On my car, this forces the pin in the open position.

    2.7T buying advice

Good luck with the search. I have a 99 A6 4.2, and had a full documented history, so in the last 10 years and 100k miles the only majorish work has been wiper splines and motor replaced, steering angle sensor, front suspension arms, links and tie rods and air mass sensor. IMHO it's the kind of...

    A6 Avant snow/ice traction problems

Big (wide), summer tyres and 2WD is not a great combination. I had a E36 M3 Evo a few years back and whilst a magnificant car, the big fat rear tyres on a rear wheel drive was a horrible combination on ice and snow. Either consider buying snow socks, or if you plan on keeping the car for a...

1999 Audi A6 Windscreen Wiper Problem

When you say malfunction, do you mean they just do not work at all, then suddenly start working after 15 minutes or so, or do you get varying levels of function from the outset? The splines are reputed to be an area that can get a bit rusted and in need of greasing and most recently in my...

    ABS light on

When i had this warning i thought it was going to be the ABS control module, but it ended up being the steering angle sensor (£260 part to replace and 30 mins to fit). Basically i needed to go to a garage with a VAG reader to let me know what fault codes had been recorded. Good luck

    A6 service at Audi dealer

Personally i would prefer a garage to tell me all the things that either should be addressed (according to service schedules) or look they they need replacing soon (i.e. tyre with 2mm of tread). It's then up to me to decide what i get done, if anything, but at least i know what is due or will...

A6 pads and discs all round, how much?

It will largely depend on a) whether you plan to do the work yourself b) whether you are happy with cheap pads/discs or more expensive 'performance ones', and c) If not doing it yourself whether you plan to use an Independent garage or Audi, as the larger chunk of the cost could end up being...

For any wheels experts out there please!...

As you say your wheel is sitting closer to the struts, etc, so strut clearance would be concern no 1. Also as your wheel is sitting 15mm closer to the centre of the car, your tyres will also sit inside the wheel arch by an extra 15mm, which might look a bit daft, unless you are also getting...

Hi, now a proud Audi owner

Finally got around to owning an Audi after 20 years of car ownership and must say that so far i'm nor disappointed. Picked up a lovely A6 quattro 4.2 Tiptronic T plate for a great price and am really enjoying the drive to and from work each day. A couple of little niggles which i'm sure some...
