No, but it is tight on the drivers side. With some fiddling the rear case should come off and out, giving you the room to locate the two wires connecting to the side light bulb and twist anticlockwise and pull. You do need a fair bit of pulling force, but be careful not to overdo it.

Personally i would prefer a garage to tell me all the things that either should be addressed (according to service schedules) or look they they need replacing soon (i.e. tyre with 2mm of tread). It's then up to me to decide what i get done, if anything, but at least i know what is due or will...
