Maybe the engine was struggling with the extra weight in mine, as mine is only a lowly 1.6. Am hoping to upgrade to a TDi sometime soon, but in the meantime i wanna play about with this one and get it looking good.

By clock unit i mean where your speedo, rev counter and warning lights etc are. There is a small trim that you can remove at the bottom then 2 screws to take out, try the contacts from that to the wiring harness. Thats what it was on mine.
