What a snide little hole that is. I had a look round those pipes today for a bleed nipple. Anyway, just been and done that, car still fairly hot, idled it to 90 degrees, removed pipe enoug for hole to release the gas, nothing happening after 5 mins, put some saliva on the hole, nothing, so fast...
Haha, it was a bog standard WRX estate, about 240hp i think they are, 51 plate, whats your view on post #14 ?
It obviously has a higher top speed but the acceleration.. nothing between us to be fair. he wasnt creating a gap and i had my foot planted in 5th! ;)

Ahh well, gave an impreza a run for its money upto 130mph, wasnt pulling away from me at all, i let off the gas at 130, had a 5 minute slow run home and checked the pipes, header tank hot(ish) top hose HOT! top to bottom of rad, same, hot to cool. Surely, it must be normal ? Temp living at 90...
Ive changed the stat, came today.. Had a bit of an airlock after coolant refill, think its gone now, got the heaters blowing red hot (they were blowing cold whilst temp was at 90 initally after the stat change.), temp needle sits at 90 degrees constantly now, fan kicks in occasionally, needle...
That cheap!? If thats the case, I'll go for an Audi one then, I thought they would be around £40-50.
This ones going back anyway. (Just out of curiosity, at what temp does the cooling fan kick in?)

Yes, Audi wanted £39 for a temp sender. So i assume the stat would be a similair price, right now im struggling with cash, i have the wolves at the door so a Gates one seemed the best option. LOL!

Hi again, having purchased a thermostat as advised in the previous thread i made im a little unsure if it the correct one.
Its a Gates item from ebay, (Never had any trouble with Gates items tbf) the listing stated it would fit the A4 1.8T AWT engine, (which i have) but having recieved the stat...
Yeh, im happy with it, maybe the turbo has been changed, there are no invoices for a turbo change. Ive had a standard 150hp AGU before and a couple of 225hp Volvos and it there does seem little difference between this and the latter. Anyway. Thanks for the constructive criticism. ;)
Hi fellas, I just put this on here for information purposes, It does actually say Stage 3, so the guy wasnt telling fibs. Make of it what you will, the car certainly feels as quick as the figures in my honest opinion.
Ahh well, maybe your right, but how can one tell when the only way of measuring it is by doing a rolling road session?
I would of thought the equipment at AMD would of been top notch stuff.
It feels as quick as the 850 T5 ive not long sold and that was 225hp albeit slightly heavier.
yeh it runs around 60 on the gauge rising when idle, havent had it 24 hours yet so it was either temp sender, thstat or the gauge itself at fault. I'll replace the stat and sensor first but the lambda will have to wait a while. I know 218hp isnt the world but i can blow metro's away all day...
