Just thinking out loud Craig...Why dont you make up more of the Fakra adaptors and sell them, as there are lots of people with this problem but might not like the idea of opening up their stereo or may not be good with a soldering iron.
Hi Scottie, I never thought of taking any pics.
If you take your unit out and cant see the wires to be soldered let me know and I will take my unit out and take some shots.
Good man Scottie, A tenner says it will work 100%.
You can check the signal strength in the service menu by holding down the menu button for about 15 seconds. This will show you amp 1 on or off, amp 2 on or off and signal strength. Before I did the fix this menu showed amp 2 off all the time...
Hi Scottie123, Just to be clear. I replaced a Concert 2 single din with a Concert 2+ double din unit. the problem in doing this is that the antenna systems are different.
All the suggestions on the forums have been to change one of the amps in the back.
The problem I was having was that after...
Sorry BennyBoy this fix was too late for you. I only tried it yesterday and its been working great ever since. Thanks for the nice comments about Ireland. Hope you come over again soon.
I got the answer to the radio signal dropping out after 15 seconds.
1. Open the top cover of the Concert 2+ (two screws)
2. Remove the cd drive (two screws and one connector)
3. Look inside the unit and you will see where the two cores from the Fakra connector go into the circuit board.
4...

Hi Artisides, I installed the Concert + as a temporary measure until I saved up for a RNS-E. Hopefully that day isnt too far away. Sorry about that but I will need my current set up for the RNS-E.
I hope you find somebody else to do a swap.
You are bang on. The ultimate solution would be an RNS-E. It would look so much better, work so much better, sound so much better.....decision made....Im off the smokes two months so I will put all that money towards an RNS-E.....Watch this space!
I did try the RF antenna on its own but the signal still drops out after ten seconds only when the engine is running. The cost of an RNS-E on ebay is around 5 to 6 hundred Euro. I am looking at a JVC AVX-810 for 280 Euro.
Thanks a million for the reply. Its a very good point you make re having the correct setup for the RNS-E. Another option I was thinking about was to fit a double din touch screen JVC or Kenwood. What do you think?
BennyBoy, you have described perfectly the problem Im having after changing from concert 2 to concert 2+. I cant believe the only solution is to change the antenna system. Come on folks...There has to be a bright spark:idea:out there who has sorted this problem without having to go to the...
Hi Scottie, I just completed a single din to double din conversion. ie. a chorus 2 head unit to a chorus 3. I got a double din cage on EBay, got the Chorus 3 head unit also on EBay. Its a difficult job to do but there are lots of tips and pics on this and other sites. The only problem is you...
