Hi
I have a 2001 1.8T Quattro Sport which I've just bought some new rear shocks for from Audi.
The part number of them is 8E0 513 036 AF, the problem is they are black and not the maroon colour I thought the sports shocks should be, I made the guy check they were right for my chasis number...
It was a no brainer for me at 97000 I didn't even think twice about changing it but at 50000 if all's well it's a bit harder, these things always happen at the worst time don't they?
but unless your selling the car within the next 20000 miles or so I think I'd change it.
Well mine had a slight judder which has now gone with the new clutch and flywheel so if your planning on keeping the car a long time it might be worth getting the flywheel done while it's in bits, could save money in the long run.
I have a 1.8T QS and had the clutch and flywheel replaced just before Christmas as it had started slipping, a local indy charged me £980 parts and labour for a Sach 3 piece clutch kit and flywheel, the also replaced the gearbox input shaft seal which was leaking oil over the clutch and causing...
I just got home last night, against my better judgement I took a chance and did a really good flush, filled it with fresh oil and drove home, had a feeling I'd finish the journey on the back of a breakdown truck but all was fine.
Now that's about as lucky as I ever get so the sumps coming off...
Thanks for the replies guys, deep down I knew it was the strainer but you always look for other options when it's you don't you.
Have a good Christmas

Hi guys.
I've just finished my annual 380 mile trip home for christmas, after about 330 motorway miles without stopping I got the infamous red oil can and beep, it went away almost immediately and over the next 20 miles (distance to next sevrvices) it kept re-appearing and goimg away until...
Yes Paul they'll be 7.5x17 ET45. If they were available as an option in 2001 I don't know, I just wanted to point out that lostbok was very wrong about the offset on the 16" wheels.
Well
16706 - Engine Speed Sensor (G28): No Signal
P0322 - 35-00 - -
16395 - Bank 1: Camshaft A (Intake): ****** Setpoint not Reached (Over-Advanced)
P0011 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
I would say these 2 codes along with the EPC light and cutting out are caused by the crank sensor on the...
Just looked at the codes a little closer, and if they all come back again after you clear them I'd say Your friend has a boost leak and a crank sensor on the way out, maybe a few other lesser issues to.
I'm speaking from personal experience here but I'm no expert.
Clear the codes and take it for a run before you do anything, check the codes again and see what you got.
A few of those codes would indicate a crank sensor, this also brings on the epc light you mentioned.
HTH.
Morning
A flashing engine light is a missfire as I'm sure you know, run a scan and see what codes you get.
It's human nature to blame yourself for some recent work you've done, I've lost count of the number of times I've done it and it's turned out to be something completely different.
Hope...
Hi guys
Does anybody know someone or somewhere around the Aberdeen area who could either read my SKC so I can code a new key or code the key for me, I have a 2001 A4 with immo3 in the dash cluster.
Cheers
Marcos
Evil sorry it's taken so long but I only saw my mate tonight.
The engine reconditioners it Dundee I mentioned are called Agra Engineering their web site is www.agra-eng.co.uk all the info you need is on the web site hope this helps.
I think there are a few people around the Midlands who use this forum, maybe you could start anther post asking for help with a scan.
The symptoms you've described so far with the exception of the CEL light coming on are exactly what I had with a failed crank sensor (G28 speed sensor on...
Coil packs failing don't put the ESP light on, but like has been said maybe more than 1 fault.
scan it, if there is a coil pack failing even the free version of vag-com will tell you which one it is.
It could ultimately be quite a few things or a combination of things.
I had 2 intermittent...
