Cheers for ur thoughts m8... I did look at a specialist breakers (cloth armrest btw)... they wanted almost the same as VAG so I'd rather get it brand new from them... I'll b looking for new seats at some point but not for a while as the ones I've got aren't falling apart! Thanks again mate!

You're right about the upgrade to a 1.8... thing is I don't really want to get rid of this one... its the first car I've had in my name so I defo want to keep this one and don't mind spending money on it over time (even if it does end up costing a bit more - not that I've got much £ at the mo!)...

Thanks for the reply m8... I should've said that already I'm planning on getting the arm rest fitted and after that am open to any suggestions about interior mods (was thinking about changing the colour of internal lighting from red to blue - just to be awkward!)... Powerwise... yeah any...

The gear knob is easy to get off without ripping it off... the best way I found was to take off the top part (that shows the gears) and then unscrew the whole thing (from my experience this didn't mess anything up) and lift it all up... The gaiter is clipped onto the knob but I just ripped that...

Also... does anyone know of any meets for A3s where I can get some ideas (again pref. near London)? Thanks

Hi, I've had my 1.6 Sport ('99 model) for a while now and want to start moding it... Only problem is I'm not sure where to start and what can actually be done to it (some of the sites I've been to only offered engine mods for 1.8s)... Also... from what I've seen there are only a few body...

RichA3Turbo Tried taking the gearstick off... thats ok... BUT... the momo gearstick I want to put on wont fit properly (due to the fact that the gearstick has to go down to get into reverse!)... would really appreciate some pics and more instructions if u can... Thanks 5ham

Thanks... Re gearstick do you mean the silver clip? I ended up ripping the top part of the gaitor when I first tried taking it off so now I really do want to change the damn thing... Re speakers... Just had a legacy amp and DB sub fitted... Sounds perfect for what I wanted... will wait a while...
