    ipod connection

I have recently bought an '08 plate A6 Avant, which I absolutely love. Unfortunatley, is doesn't have an ipod adapter or aux in socket, so I was wondering what the best way of connecting an ipod to the car is (I'm not too keen on FM transmitters), and what the typical costs were. Thanks for...

    Just gutted!

Cheers. I live in South Manchester. Police were pretty good last night, but what can they do. In a way, i hope I don't get it back now. Definately insured - just know I'm going to get shafted though.

    Just gutted!

Can't believe it. I've posted on here a few times before as I'm considering getting an A3. Came a step closer last night. Someone walked in through my back door and helped themselves to my wallet, blackberry, car keys and car (Mini Cooper s Clubman - fully loaded with just 4k on the clock)...

Alternative to factory fit ipod and bluetooth?

I'm just looking at the cost of speccing a new A3 with an ipod adapter and hands free telephone, and it comes to just over £500, which is a bit steep. Bearing in mind a number of the posts here state that the ipod adapter isn't particularly great, are there any decent after-market options that...

How practical do you find your car?

My wifes got a Mark V Golf, but it will be interesting to see how much bigger the Sportback seems in practical use. As someone mentioned will have to get a weekend test drive. Just can't bring myself to look at an A4 or 3-series.

How practical do you find your car?

Hi All, Posted last Saturday about ability to fit roof bars to an A3 Sportback with the open sky system. Very nearly went ahead with a 2.0 TDI 170 Quattro Sport, but in the end decided against it. The boot on the Quattro is just too small (didn't help that Audi mucked me about over a part-ex...

Fitting roof bars and roof box with an open sky system

I think I may have found the solution to my problem: http://accessories.audi.co.uk/accessories/details.do?accessoryId=76 I'm assuming that once the roof bars are fitted, they can take pretty mcuh any roof box? (Clearly I've never done this before - there was a time not too long ago when the...

Fitting roof bars and roof box with an open sky system

I think that I may have found the solution to my problem: http://accessories.audi.co.uk/accessories/details.do?accessoryId=76 I'm assuming that once the bars are fitted, they should be able to hold pretty much any roof box, rather than the over-priced Audi ones?

Fitting roof bars and roof box with an open sky system

Hi All, I was hoping someone could help me out with a query I've got. I've test driven an A3 Sportback 2.0 TDI 170 Quattro this afternoon. The car is absolutely fantastic. It's 2 years old, but only has 4,000 miles on it (from an Audi dealership so no worries there). The spec is great, if...

    TDI 170 vs TDI 140

Have thought quite hard about a quattro, but I think the reduction in boot space would probably be too much, especially at it would be the main family car. 95% of the time it would be fine, but for holidays away etc. with small children, I think we would probably struggle. Will definately get...

    TDI 170 vs TDI 140

Thanks. I must admit my natural reaction was the 170 just because it's more powerful, perhaps rather than thinking about how much I'd use the extra power. Am also tempted by the s-tronic, though all my cars to date (and there have been quite a few) have been manual. How much difference does...

    TDI 170 vs TDI 140

Hi All, I'm serioulsy thinking of getting an A3 Sportback TDI 170 Sport. Clearly will have to have a good test drive, but I was wondering if it is worth the additional £900 over the 140. I previously had an '04 3dr 2.0 TDI Sport, which was pretty good but not spectacular. Obvioulsy the diesel...

    Yet another newcomer!

Hi All, I'm another newcomer to this site. Going to get another A3 soon (part-ex'd my '04 TDI Sport 4 years ago). The Mini has got to go!! Looking forward to getting the opinions and views of all the others on the site. Cheers, Dai
