Hi all,
I've been trying to source brake pads for my 05 2.0tdi non quattro and have so far been supplied the incorrect pads twice. First type were the wrong shape and second were the right shape but slightly too large. They rubbed on the discs in the centre and failed mot like this (I thought...
Hi tdi-man, getting the same click click click symptoms on mine with some lock on and already suspect nearside outer CV joint due to noise and also noticed one of the cv boot clips is missing when I did an oil change last night, where did you source the joint and how much was it if you don't...
I managed 601 miles out of my old mapped 1.9tdi vw bora (50litre tank) and so far best is around 520-540 in the 2.0tdi a3 and that's a 55 litre tank. Gonna load up the economy map for the trip to Wales as hope to do the whole return journey and week's driving on the one tank, we will see!
Thanks for the info NHN, seems a possibility. I think I'll keep an eye on it and see if it deteriorates or not and maybe get the dealer to check it and diagnose if poss. From reading all the steering rack threads audi seem to diagnose the rack in about 10 seconds!
thanks.
Hi all, noticing a clicking or knocking at low speed, normally as I'm pulling out of a junction or parking etc which at the same time I've normally got a reasonable amount of lock on (seems worse on right lock than left, but seems to happen on both). I'm presuming this is likely a cv joint or...
Yes, I responded to the seller along the lines of if you are saying they are replicas why are you not stating this in the auction and using all the bbs branding to deceive potential buyers to which i've had no response.
Interesting, I am not questioning your knowledge, but am curious how you can tell the centre bore and spigot ring fitment is different as this isn't shown in the photo's and not mentioned in the description? Also the finish looks quite good in the photos.
These are not far from me so would...
Hi all,
I have a 2.0tdi 140 sportback sport with standard sport suspension and 17" sport alloys. I like the look of some of the 18" wheels but am in somewhat of a quandry.
I changed wheels before on my previous car (16-17") and the ride comfort suffered a little and the performance...
Bit of an open ended question really, cheap if you do it yourself (parts cost only) or more expensive if you go to a main dealer, independant should be cheaper than a main dealer.
I had quotes previously for a chipped vw bora and elise or s2000 and multicar was cheaper than individual quotes when trying to juggle ncb, adminral and I think some others do it now.
Personally I have a 2.0 tdi and my last car was a vag 1.9tdi so I guess you can see where my preference is. That aside i currently do little milage and car share to work. My car does around 50mpg and my colleagues does maybe 30-35mpg. I personally don't think i'd want to go back to the higher...
My last car, a vw bora pd115 was mapped by the previous owner at 60k who i bought it from at 119k, i sold it in good running order at 180k and it was still on the original clutch and turbo. The clutch was just starting to show some signs of slippage.
i'm probably going to fit one, but that's only because i need a new one anyway and as i plan to keep the car a fair while being able to clean and reuse rather than having to replace means after 40k miles i'll probably recoupe the cost. Whether there will be a performance advantage as said any...
