yeah - the esp light on the dash stays on. This only started to happen after the gearbox was fixed. does that mean that the ESP is off then?

I've just had the call from the garage and it is the fuel pump. They reckon it has to be a genuine audi part which will cost £219 inc VAT + labour of around an hour. Does this sound like a reasonable price? Anyone know where I could get one cheaper? Is it worth upgrading it? Its for an AMK...

Just got off the phone with the gearbox place. It was a chipped tooth on the diff and they are replacing the crown wheel and pinion. It's gonna be £650 +VAT labour included. Slighty happier that its not £2.5k!!!

Just been to cleckheaton gearbox centre, the guy there reckons that it could be a chipped tooth. Its gonna be £600 min for a repair and could be upto £900 to have a fully reconditioned box put in. At least its not the £2.5k that I was quoted initially.... A

Thanks for you suggestions.... The guys at audi care said that the noise was definately coming from inside the gearbox. The noise does stop when you push the clutch down fully. I'm taking it to a gearbox specialist in cleckheaton today to see what they say.... Any other ideas appreciated
