I didn't find it that intrusive and knew the rattle was to be expected at idle. Think it just takes a couple of weeks to get used to unless your vibrations are different to the ones I had.
After coming from a manual S3 8P and numerous manual cars, I'd never go back to owning a manual after driving with S-Tronic in the new 8v. Personally think it's a great bit of kit.
Would only consider a manual as a track car, otherwise don't see the point owning a manual car sitting in traffic...
They're really good in my opinion, very helpful. They remap a lot of Audi's. I had my Evo 8 and S3 8P remapped there. My new S3 8V is also booked in for Revo stage 1.
They're really busy so you need to book in advance.
SMF rattles at idle, Sachs\Loba clutch is quite a bit heavier than standard, takes a few days to get used to it. Feels solid and you can launch the car hard with it.
For the average joe driver (like myself) it wouldn't be easy getting into the 12's. Not tried it in my S3 but tried it in other cars with similar power and found it difficult. It's all about the launch.
Wallace Performance in Aberdeen are Revo dealers, they mapped my S3 8P and my S3 8V that's on order is booked in for Revo Stage 1. Good bunch of lads and always had good service from them.
I've just ordered a new S3 to replace my Revo Stage 2+ S3 8P, picking it up on the 1st April and it's already booked in for a Revo Stage 1 mid April. I think if you use a reputable tuner you won't have any issues, I've had mapped cars for years and never had a problem with any of them (touch...
You'll get different results on different dyno's thats a guarantee, it doesn't really matter what map it is, it won't get the same results on different dyno's. My old Evo (with the same mods) was 30 bhp and 50 lb/ft down on a Dyno Dynamics dyno, it was tested on three different rolling roads.
One of my engine mounts failed last week (looked like the engine was away to fall out the engine bay), really need to think about upgrading. Whats the best option in terms of least vibration through the cabin?
