S3 pads are remarkably similar in appearance to ordinary Golf/GTI pads but they're not the same.
I've even seen catalogues that list them as being the same,or don't list them for the S3 at all.
I've had "experts" tell me they are,but ,trust me they're just different enough to jam in the...
I've been running APR Stage 1 for over three years over here in Aus.
APR are very big here.
They did a revision update a couple of months ago and it's excellent.
Highly recommended.

Don't understand all the negativity towards Bridgestone 050a's.
Had them on several cars, including the S3,and found them to be pretty good all round,on road and Track.
Renault used them specifically to set the front wheel drive lap record with the Megane RS at the Nurburgring.......
I do...
"Only needed second gear"
Don't believe an S3 will do 60mph in second gear...hope you weren't going by the optimistic speedometer.
60 on the speedo is about 56 from memory.
And Traction Control "On"???[And A/C]...
Only thing achieved here was some mechanical abuse-and then people wonder why...
It's probably just a bit of pad knock off.
With the sliding caliper setup in S3's the outer pads aren't held securely like the inners, and as such can move slightly in the caliper.
This is magnified in change of direction type braking, like the first time you apply them in reverse.
Try reversing...
Have a friend with a facelift S3 manual that when given a decent rev[ie on the Track]has the distubing habit of the clutch pedal sticking on the floor after a gearchange.
Clutch operates as normal, but the pedal has to be 'assisted" from the floor with your toes...
Anyone who knows of this or has...
Just unlock the doors with the switch.
They won't re-lock unless you slow to less than the locking speed and then exceed it.Shouldn't happen on the track as you wouldn't be doing less than 10mph [that's when mine lock]
Also, they unlock automatically in the event of a shunt....but you won't need...
Haven't really had a good look under the S3,but I know with the Polo GTI if you jacked both rear wheels off the ground, the springs practically fell out by themselves.
Check that they're located correctlty and not misaligned somewhat.

Doesn't matter how good a car's suspension is,the final bit is those four patches of rubber between you and the road.
That tyre combination has disaster written all over it.
I've done enough tyre testing and Driver training to know the effects of mis-matched tyres, especially in the...
