My 1999 A6 2.5 tdi recently passed its MOT (phew!) but had an advisory that there was oil leaking from the rear diff. Apparently the area round it is 'damp' but oil isn't gushing out. Does anyone know how serious this is or what I need to do to sort it? Ideally don't want to spend money if I can...
very handy thanks, sounds like it's pretty normal on cold or damp mornings (so that's most of the year then!). Not sure whether I'll get it looked at or not, it's a new clutch but I guess without this new part that doesn't let moisture build up as much. I would probably have to incur more...
When I bought my A6 (off a mate) recently, it had just had a new clutch and dual mass flywheel fitted. I've noticed recently that there is a fair amount of 'juddering' at low speed when lifting the clutch. It only happens in 1st gear and then is normal once the car is going.

I've just recently bought a 99 2.5tdi Quattro saloon and am getting 38-39 mpg on a run, and 35ish around town. I love the 4wd though, just makes the car feel stable and no wheelspin! The V6 TDI is lovely too
after buying my 99 A6 saloon recently I thought the headlights were rubbish, but maybe it just needs new bulbs then? I recently replaced the battery and that hasn't made a difference. Trouble is, I've never owned an Audi before so not sure if its normal or not!
