Since I've had my control unit replaced it's been absolutely fine. The rest of the car is falling apart, but the DSG is now fine :)

That's interesting - mine is a 57 plate 2.0TDI 170 Sportback S-Line. It seems the new gearbox control unit has definitely smoothed things out though.

daveyjp, what was the slight coolant loss issue? Mine is in the garage now because the coolant was below minimum for no apparent reason that could be seen (by me). Dealer has been doing a pressure test but have not heard back from them yet (in for other problems as well - up to 2 weeks).

I've had my passenger mirror refuse to swing out sometimes. Although, closing the mirrors and then opening them again seems to unstick it. However, when it does open, it does so fully.

I bought my car (170 TDI S-Line DSG) in Oct 2007 and have done 15,000 miles in it. I've not had any issues with the DPF, I don't even notice any regenerations. I think you definitely need to see the dealer.
