I too think that the car is a lot smoother now and a noticed a slight increase in fuel economy. The car also feels like it's lost a bit of power but it must be the effect of having a smoother car! Glad to see it's just me and not the car!
Audi Southampton rang me who said they had been contacted by Audi UK to get them to contact all customers who had a failed injector with their A3 to book them in for the injectors to be checked and replaced if necessary. The dealer guy said that it was a recall but it doesn't sound like a very...
Got my car back from the dealer. They replaced 3 of the injectors. The one I had replaced in Feb this year was already one of the new injectors, apparently...
Mine is in today - Oct 2007 PD 170. Had an injector failure in Feb of this year. Luckily took the extended warranty out on it so didn't have to pay, but it was the dangerous situation I was left in when it did fail which annoyed me. I always thought that Audi should be recalling them if it is...
Yes, 0650. But, if it doesn't make a lot of difference, maybe it's worth me leaving it. I guess they automatically update these things at a service?
Cheers
Got the car back after 3 weeks! Anyway, DSG is a lot smoother than it was so I'm quite pleased that I finally put it in thanks to the advice here :)
Just in case anyone is interested, the coolant issue was the EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) part which had an internal fault and was leaking...
Just to let you know (in case you did want to :)). I finally put the car into the dealer for another problem (coolant) and mentioned the DSG problem along with a list of other things.
They've come back that it needs a new control unit which will be up to 2 weeks back order.
Hopefully when I...
daveyjp, what was the slight coolant loss issue? Mine is in the garage now because the coolant was below minimum for no apparent reason that could be seen (by me). Dealer has been doing a pressure test but have not heard back from them yet (in for other problems as well - up to 2 weeks).
I've had my passenger mirror refuse to swing out sometimes. Although, closing the mirrors and then opening them again seems to unstick it. However, when it does open, it does so fully.
I bought my car (170 TDI S-Line DSG) in Oct 2007 and have done 15,000 miles in it. I've not had any issues with the DPF, I don't even notice any regenerations. I think you definitely need to see the dealer.
Yes, I agree - also, just trying to gently ease into a car park space which is on a small slope.
Anyway, thanks to all for the advice. I'll have to book my car in (for a few other things as well :))
Hi,
I've got the same model with the DSG and I assumed that it was a symptom of the DSG because since new my car has always had a totally unrefined 1st gear. From every start when I put my foot down fairly quickly, the gearbox bangs/jerks in exactly the same way. I just put it down to the...
