Changing country code help needed in Bournemouth

Hi Guys. I have recently bought a Caddy but as it was an irish import the odo is in kilometres. I've changed the dials ok but I guess it needs the country code changing so it displays in miles. It's a 2006 TDI. I'm in the Bournemouth area. Any help would be much appreciated. Regards Nick

    ECU Re-setting After New Maf!

No not a new one, the ecu light just stayed on until it was reset. Only then did it drive how it should. I remember with my old Golf anniversary, the light went out after plugging in the new maf, turning off the ignition and restarting it. I didn't have vagcom in those days but it obviously...

    ECU Re-setting After New Maf!

When I fitted my new MAF the car felt awful to drive and very juddery (Even worse than it was before). As I fitted it outside GSF I had to get home so I just unplugged it and carried on. When I got home I reset the fault code with vagcom and the car was perfect. I know what some people are...

    ACTIVE SCAMMER ALERT

Just spent the last hour Reading other forums on this guy and he really is a piece of scum. If he hasn't already had a serious pasting I'll be very surprised as he's clearly ****** off alot of people. Glad I haven't had any dealings with him but feel sorry for anyone who has. This will be an...

    Temperature problem

Ok cheers guys, I'll check those things. I wasn't too worried but thought the gauge was meant to stay bang on 90 if running normally. This was about 10 o'clock at night so it wasn't exactly hot but I'll keep my eye on it if I don't find anything abnormal. How do you reset the sender/thermostat...

    Temperature problem

Hi all. Whilst driving around last night I noticed that my temperature gauge was sitting just above the 90 mark when it usually sits bang on as it should. The thing that's puzzling me is it stayed there whether driving normally or idling(no increase or decrease). I've recently changed the...

Got into to some trouble, destoyed a pipe!

It's an oil breather pipe. It's a common problem(aren't they all) for this to break where you've repaired it anyway. Mine went back in December. It will be fine to drive if you patch it up with tape for a temporary fix but a replacement part from the stealers is about £34 if I recall correctly...

Help with mods! - Re-map, filter and Dump Valve

The 1.8t VAG engines dont have a dump valve. Its a recirculating valve meaning that it is designed to divert air back into the engine. If you were to fit a dump valve instead, the ECU would wonder why its not getting the correct airflow and probably throw up a fault code. This is why they are...

    AGU vs AUM

Here's a question for you. My friend has a Golf 1.8t with the AGU engine and is currently having a KO3s fitted and a remap this week. My A3 1.8t has the AUM engine which obviously already has the KO3s. When both cars are remapped(Stage 1), is there any advantage in power between the 2 as my...

    Thermostat finally changed

As the title says, after looking at the parts sitting in my garage for a couple of months, I finally got round to fitting the new thermostat yesterday. I must say....What an awkward b*****d of a job it is even though I was prepared for it after reading about other peoples experiences of it. As...

Its underneath the subwoofer next to the central locking pump. Its very tight in there without taking the panel off but I managed to do it somehow. Pull the central locking pump out(This is the thing wrapped in foam). You should have enough slack on the pipes from it to do it without...

    S3 Alarm three beeps...

If it really starts to annoy you just take the siren out for the time being. I had the same problem with mine a couple of weeks ago. Bit of a pig to get out but the alarm will still arm as usual, immobiliser will work but obviously alarm will not sound when triggered. Mine wasn't just beeping...

    Another pesky CIL light!!

Hi all. After thinking all has been well with the car for a couple of months, it has once again thrown a wobbler and given me the CIL light. Ran Vagcom and it is showing this. Address 01 ------------------------------------------------------- Controller: 06A 906 032 FC Component...
