Lost comms will be a fault within the ABS ECU. Open it up and solder a jump wire where the tiny link from pin to board has broken. If you don't want to do this either buy a new one or send it for repair.

The vents are held in with four clips. You need to make up a tool to release the top clips.
The whole dash centre trim needs removing which req removal of glove box so you can access the lower clips with a screwdriver.
It will pop out forwards then.

The only lube you use is on the edge of the pad backplate, Never ever spray WD around your brakes.
You need to have a mechanic look at your brakes as this is not normal. You may just have a stone stuck between the backplate and the disc as its a horrible screech.
Normal brake wear wont do this...
