Please accept my ignorance but how do I do that...The car flashing yellow light comes on everytime you put the ignition key in but instead of going out like it should after a few seconds it just flashes ..
Hi All.....Looks like I cannot get Arargon at the moment don't know if he is still on here or not..
I had trouble starting my car continallly cranking the starter most of the day..So I left it and disconnected the battery over night and tried to start the next day when I noticed the yellow car...

I had recently had a trouble starting with the bad frost we have had I eventually got it going one day and it ran ok on a run till the next morning would not start again..
Anyhow I continued to pump the starter most of...
On further investigation I found that is what they call the dreaded flashing yellow immobiliser symbol ..
With having the battery off or spending the day running the battery down the ecu has not recognised the code in the ignition key that is being used..
Is it a case of resetting the code...
Audi A4 B5 1997 1.8t ..I have been having starting problems first of all it was running ok on the road till you came to start it next day and it was cold..I did a manual Throttle body set...but still was the same...
Now I cannot start it at all after disconnecting the battery because it needed...
Audi 1997 A4 B5 1.8t...Need to take the dash out to get mine repaired then put it back..
The middle LCD is blank where the OK and MPG Info was and I just have red lines..
Just two screws on the front having moved the steering wheel forward to give more room..
Then unplug from the back..send...
If you google E10 fuel you will find certain sites saying irrespective of what the manufacturers say namely Audi in our case reporting that the E10 fuel will attack certain parts of the engine i.e. Hoses.. Gaskets.. Pumps.. and the like..
Would not be the first time Manufacturers have told us...

The Government is changing the Fuel from so-called E5 to E10 ..I have looked at the consequences of using E10..
I suppose the easiest thing to do would be to use the higher octane...
Audi A4 1.8t B5 fitted with the B12 Suspension Pro Kit Eibach Springs and Bilstein shock Absorbers..
The Rubber Bellows that fit covering the rear suspension inner rod lasted about 2 years at most..
I have tried to get the original part from Audi 357513425 but no longer available..

My middle Led is out it's a blank... the one that shows and controls your:-
Petrol sign needs refueling
Also OK sign that comes on and go's out when you start
Also the Radio sign that tells you what station you are on
Also the ambient temperature sign...
Think it's a knacker and a repair...

So you are looking at a Reconditioned Exchange...

There is harmless Banter that stops us getting too serious over things on here like dare I say "Oil" the other kind is abuse,there are plenty of those..
I sometimes think on forums have I ended up on an Abuse Forum by mistake where guy's can throw everything at each other Mr Angry types.....
Gaz you really mean well and appreicated I'm sure on this forum but there is only so much you need to know about the workings of oil in a car...
Your head will explode thinking about additives cleansers and the like ..it's oil at the end of the day and before you say it's the Blood and Lifeline...
I have that feeling with the lack of thread interest that I can hear the members saying "No don't wind Gaz up about the oil"..

Gaz you are getting quite Anal about these facts and figures representing cars that we don't drive ....
I'm sure the engines have moved on over 20 odd years and we have to take that into account your figures show what you can expect from modern day cars of which ours are not...
