I looked at doin the haldex oil and filter myself but after looking where the filter is i decided i couldnt be ***** lol. Would be an easy job with a lift. Engine oil and filter is easy enough tho.

Nah thats double what you should be paying mate should be around £80 for haldex oil and filter. if your in the midlands area id try midland vw. Oil and filter is easy enough to do your self.

I wouldnt take my s3 anywhere else. let us know how you get on mate im thinking of goin there for a remap soon.

Havent had my s3 remapped yet, but i plan to go to midland vw when i got the funds. Recommend them for anything, jody knows his stuff.

I read somewhere in the manual not to leave the car idling when its cold , but drive off straight away. I do this but dont rev over 3000 for first 10 min of driving.

Midland vw did my cambelt w/pump and tensioner for under £250 a couple years back. i would trust jody over wolverhampton audi any day :icon_thumright:

definately not standard my x reg 1.8t didnt. if ur planing on a remap id try and get 1 with esp.

a3 and golf 1.8T are 150 bhp. quattro a3 and anniverary golf are 180. there was a 150 bhp tt i think

Listen for rattle/grinding noise on startup, and a rattle from engine at around 1800 rpm in lower gears. Possible oil starvation to top of the engine.

I think insurance companies nowadays will only write of cars as a last resort. I had an accident with a motorbike that caused just under £6000 of damage to my s3 and it was repaired, and car was only worth £8500. gc

No mate its a 2001 s3. Its was a fault with the self leveling system, the manual calls it Dynamic Headlight Range Control. Went out in it again last night and its ok now no warning and xenons are adjusting. I think it was just loose wiring.
