slight thread hijack (sorry!) but is there a simple way of diagnosing a faulty maf on a (non-turbo) car? my car hesitates badly at anything under 2krpm, especially when negotiating mini roundabouts where it pretty much completely stalls until/unless i put the pedal on the floor. i think tuffty...

i wouldn't buy a 2nd hand one if i was you - could be the same in no time. that price with delivery looks expensive, going from previous threads on here you should be looking at around £20 (maybe a couple of quid less) direct from audi. i need one for mine (same one in fact), but it's way down...

actually, that doesn't look too bad - especially showing off the mahoosive calipers up front. not sure how std discs and calipers would look though - a bit like the rears on that pic, i suspect. would certainly be a bit different. for a bit (until they become more commonplace)

i don't think they'd suit the b5 - the wheels are very "spindly" with thin spokes, and i think without big brake discs they'd look a bit daft. i've seen similar 5-spoke wheels on TTs and i don't think they suit that, either. flat-faced, or wheels with a large surface area, seem to suit the b5...

i suspect the piston dropped down the cylinder when the conrod snapped

i had 8x18 et35 before (on my s8 reps) and they were really close to the arches (lowered to the max on coilies) although i never heard them catch - i also had to use a thin spacer (2mm-3mm) on the rear because they didn't fit my 3rd party replacement discs. the rs4 replicas i have now are 8x18...

i drive a 1.8se (i.e. non turbo) and i think it's handy enough for a family saloon. not sure how much more driveable it is compared to the 1.6. for reference, my insurance this year came out at £120 tpf&t :)

presumably not a standard s2 then? ;)
