    A1 auto-fold door mirrors de-coded yet?

Apologies for slow response but thanks for that, it's something which will re-inforce my intention to get a well equipped Sportback. Thanks again.

    A1 auto-fold door mirrors de-coded yet?

Hi, I recall seeing folk being disappointed that the folding mirrors on the A1 do not auto-fold when locking the car, so, has the 'code' been de-coded yet? I had the same problem with the Q3 but they soon found the code to enable Independent Service Agents (not Dealerships) to adjust the code...

Fings ain't wot they used to be!

Thanks again - have added that second one to my 'watch' list, it seems to be the way to go.

Fings ain't wot they used to be!

Thanks already - You are welcome to join in RichardT, don't think you are hijacking if you want to ask anything. I'm the same as you Minion Bob!, the steering wheel obliterates mine too. One solution can be seen on the TT forum - cut off the top third of the steering wheel !! Sorry s3_trev -...

Fings ain't wot they used to be!

The cars are as good, or better than they've ever been - but as a 70 year old, it's me that's showing the signs of increasing age. So .... my problem! The 8v 2.0TDi Sportback - can the indicator tic-toc volume be increased? Perhaps via MMI or VCDS - or by the Dealership workshop? Thank you in...

    Colour choice.

I guess you've just about summed it up re the Silver - it's boring! I'll check out that Monza Silver when in the Audi dealership next time - interestingly, in the brochure I have to hand at the moment, Monza is only available for the S-Line - does that apply to the Sportback range as well? (Am...

    Colour choice.

No, not the obvious query, after all, choice of colour is subjective and fave colours vary with us all. I'm the first to say that I like dark colours and the Phantom Black, when clean and polished, is superb - and I'm speaking as an owner. However, for various reasons, I can't committ to the...

My encounter with the Stealth Beast

It's good to know that my 63 years of age is considered close to being about right! I've had the BMWs, the Mercs of all persuasions and even two Jag XK8s, but right now, sitting in my garage, I have an A3 Sportback 2.0TFSi with DSG, an A3 2.0TDi S-Line with DSG and am currently speccing up a...

S3 as fast as they say?

Would your same advice apply to the common rail 2.0TDi 170 with S-Tronic? i.e. - Gaic or Revo remaps would still be the best?

    Option of Keyless ignition?

Hi, just wondered if there was any likelihood of Audi offering full keyless entry/ignition - it seems the current trend and I know it's offered on the larger Audis.

    S-Tronic...?

I had to look twice at that response as it reflects my own opinion so perfectly I thought I'd written it in my sleep - even down to being retired! My past has included track testing (as well as owning) Jaguar XK8s but I'm now more than content with my (wife's !!) Sportback 2.0TFSi with DSG...

    Buying A3: Help needed!

As stated, DSG and S-Tronic are the same, the names having changed from DSG to the latter. But if you want Quattro then you can't have the DSG/S-Tronic - they don't do them in the A3/Sportback range. We have the Sportback (2.0TFSI -DSG) and it's perfect for the grandchildren in child seats etc...

    Ordered!

Placing order for my wife's Sportback in July - having the 2.0TDI 170bhp SE with S-Tronic for delivery December 2008 and OTR January 2009. I too like the Deep Sea Blue but, whereas the current Deep Sea Blue has the option of Dark Blue interior, the face lift doesn't. I'm also disappointed with...

    Older than most

Hi, am in similar shoes as you, age-wise and seeking to purchase the 170bhp with S-Tronic. We have a Sportback SE with 2.0TFSi on a 56 plate and that was fitted with 16" wheels (so more 'give' in the tyre walls). This spec was changed for the 2007 MY to 17" becoming standard. The new facelift SE...

Route advice - Manchester to South Wales

Agreed, then pick up the M4 at Newport and it's motorway all the way to the Llanelli turn-off at J48. One word of caution - the road works which start at Cardiff Gate (J30? sorry - don't have junction nos immediately to hand) do go on for several miles and can cause a considerable hold-up...

    Bye then...

If anyone asks about the engine, tell them it's a Ferrarri, after all, the GM 1.9TDi is built by Fiat, which is owned by Ferrarri. The fuel economy and mid range torque of these engines is/are renowned and apply to the Saab versions as well, despite the extra weight to be lugged around. Good...

I'm a newbie on here so fogive me jumping in on this thread - but it's very topical with me today. I too went to Halfords and had two CK3000s fitted by them (October 2007) one in my 56 plate 2.0TFSi and one in my A3 2.0TDi. Neither car was fitted correctly despite taking them back and asking...
