    Fuchs oil instead of Quantum?

Yes Fuchs currently make Quantum and have done for a while. Quantum have never made their own oils, it has been made by various manufacturers over the years and is the VAG group after market brand. It is Fuchs with a different label, Fuchs have not made a special blend for Quantum (no need to)...

    Facelift Millers 5w-30 performance service

Some switch to 5w-40 if they have come off longlife servicing. As far as the engine is concerned, there is not much difference. Cheers, Guy

    oil for 1.8t 400+

The Motul 300v 5w-40 is - HTHS viscosity at 150°C (302°F) ASTM D4741 4.1 mPa.s HTHS (hight temp high shear) is important, but it is not the only thing as its all about the balance. There are other things such as NOAK and TBN to look at as well. I have found over the years staring at data...

    oil for 1.8t 400+

For hard performance use with heavily modified engines, Motul 300v is about as good as it gets. Great stuff. Cheers, Guy

    oil for 1.8t 400+

10w-40 will be fine, 5w-40 would also be ideal. Only need to go thicker if its oil temps are getting excessive either due to use, power or both. Synthetic would be best. If you want the best oils for performance, look for an ester synthetic. Cheers, Guy.

    MOTUL 300V

They probably mean it is not rated as in it does not meet any VAG specs, such as the VW504.00 recommended for the S3 8V but that does not mean it is not ok to use, if you decided to take your S3 racing, the 300v is the kind of thing you would use. The thing to bear in mind is the 300v is not a...

    MOTUL 300V

It is absolutely fine, and for the cost of it you might as well leave it in there for a while and get your money's worth. The 300v is very, very good stuff indeed. Cheers, Guy

    Oil Grade Confusion

I would be interest to know why they think using a 5w-30 would invalidate a warranty if it meets or exceeds the required spec, it really does not make any sense and I have never heard of this before. Sounds like a confuzzled dealer to me. Cheers, Guy.

    Oil Grade Confusion

As you are on a fixed service schedule then you do not need the 504.00 longlife oil, and VAG recommend 502.00 as a minimum spec to be used on fixed service, the owner is then free to use better if they wish, and that would be a good thing. The Millers Nano Drive 5w-30 far exceeds anything...

    Oil Grade Confusion

The dealer seems a bit daft. 502.00 spec can be used on fixed service schedules, it means you do not need a longlife oil and opens up a lot of choice. 504.00 spec is for variable/longlife service schedules, as it is a longlife oil. 502.00 spec oils will not last the longlife service interval...

    Which screen wash?

I use rainX on the windscreen of a vintage car but does not work well if you try to use windscreen wipers with it, have to let the wind do its thing so curious to see what a rainX screenwash would be like. I might have to try that on something one day. At the moment I use this one from Motul...

    Engine Oil For 8V RS3

Yes Castrol is fine for a stage 1, but if you want to go for a more porformance orientated oil then move to the 5w-40 ester synthetic. Cheers, Guy
