I've found the customer service with Bluefin/Superchips to be excellent. They even let me try different variations on the S3 map with no extra charge, and all done via internet download :cool:

I was looking at the S3 and 335 Coupe and ended up going for the S3. There was next to nothing in it performance wise but I felt the more agile handling and better standard equipment swayed it for me. I also like the fact that the S3 is a less common site on the road. The 325 is a nice car...

Agree, it is likely to be something she had immediately to hand, and if it was keys which she routinely carries it is likely there would be incriminating paint residue on them, particularly given the depth of the damage. Whether the police are willing to explore this avenue is another matter...

Haven't tried the A3 3.2 but looked at the rest before I got the S3. My personal preference would be the GTi - it felt more agile than A3 2.0T and particularly the R32 R32 - narrowly getting the nod over the A3 due to the traction from the 4wd A3 2.0T - still a good car but probably suffered...

Get rid of the awful two tone paintwork and the DRL foglights, put some less bling 19" wheels on it and I think it could look quite smart - sort of like I'd envisage an RS3 would look. Couldn't put up with it in its current MaxPower guise though!

They do next day delivery by mail if you contact Superchips directly. I also founf their customer service was superb if that influences you - couldn't be more helpful.

Superchips offer a refund on Bluefin within 7 days if you're not happy - they've also got a discount offer on at the moment.

Certainly sounds like it, as that is exactly what I had, plus some vibration through the steering wheel, before I was diagnosed as needing a new steering rack.

Autocar were also saying an 'R42' Golf is on the cards for 2010 with the engine from the TT-RS - if that is true there has to be an RS3 on the cards at some point, whether it be for this generation of the A3 or the next.

It's all down to whole-life cost when the lease companies determine the monthly charge. Key factors for them are depreciation, where indications are that a 3 series will be hit more than a TT, which generally holds its value well. Additionally, the way they calculate the cost of options...

According to Autocar the R version of the Mk6 Golf will dispense with the V6 engine and will instead use a 265bhp version of the updated valvelift 2.0T engine - in essence then an S3 but with the revised platform and engine..... Will be interesting to see how the price and standard equipment are...

Interesting when that engine makes it into the R8 though - £120k and with a remap and exhaust you'll have enough performance to leave a Murcielago or Ferrari 599 for dead......

Would actually recommend making a nice cocktail of heavily salted water and birds eye chillis, blending it in a liquidiser and then putting in an aerosol - only problem is that appears a bit more premeditated :eyebrows:
