So, after initially being told
By the Kia garage that replacing the fuel pressure regulator had made no difference, it idled rough for about 30 seconds when I picked it up but was noticeably fine for the rest of the trip home. Thought I’d VCDS it when I got home, last error (same as original ie...
In case you didn’t notice, actual pressure at idle varies between 70 and 600 bar, with control deviation varying between -X00 bar and +X00 bar. But happily hovered at 600 bar under medium load with Control Deviation at only +/-3bar. I’ve asked garage to order/fit the PRV. Would still love...
I have an issue with rough idle/fuelling (happens at higher revs and idle but not in between, as far as I can tell).
Vagcom error:
5175 - Fuel Pressure Regulation
P1065 00 [109] - Regulation Discrepancy
When the fuel pressure sensor is disconnected , it runs better. So, I tried...
Admittedly, I was doing this in the dark last night but managed to get the dash off, release cup holder but couldn't see how to disengage it all the way out for a hit soapy water treatment. Any hints/pictures, people? Or will it all be self evident in daylight???
At the rate that I'm going with the insurance companies, I might not need to bother. I can get £450 on a modded RS4 but 900 on a modded S4 - go figure!
Beware what he means by "anything", as width will be an issue at some point. That was why i asked about S3 seats as they sb smaller whereas the later model 4 series will be larger.
Perhaps they are for a 2007, but not the earlier model - I could have bought 3 sets in the last week alone. I'd rather avoid the stealers as my mod list is long and that would slow it down some.
I only ask because I'm hunting for a b5 s4 and plenty don't have the recaros, which are a must for me! I've been looking on eBay and, unlike my allroad, none are coming up!
Any ideas and/or will other recaros fit? From a later model maybe?
I would invest in a battery optimiser if i were you. Also, get the battery checked at least before u replace it. Otherwise, u might end up just having the same problem with the new battery, ie its not a battery fault but dodgy wiring somewhere or (as a prev poster said) an electrical item that...
Thanks for the reply. RS6 has standard paddle shifters for the Tiptronic on the wheel (no other additional controls). The Allroad/A6 had that as an option only with the MFSW so not sure if a different control module is required and, at the moment, am GUESSING that the airbag will swap over...
Thanks for the reply :-)
No, it's a straight C5 (RS6 2003?) to C5 (Allroad 2002) swap. I'm just wary because it involves the airbag AND because I have no instructions I don't want to get to a point where I have un-installed the old one but can't put it back if the RS6 won't work.
If it's...
Ok, birth out of the way but still not happy to start this without somewhere to start from as this is the main family car. Surely someone has doen this before? Or at least to an A6 C5 (same difference)?
Thanks, mate.
No remap yet - didnt want to waste money on a map if I was going to do more afterwards.
I know that the Allroad engine isnt quite the same spec as the S4/RS4, so not sure of safe limits. Auto is a pain as I'm sure its going to limit me but its the family car so.....
I'll give...
Its not per se dangerous, but you should get it sorted asap as the faulty sensor (very likely cause) causes the computer to act differently with fuelling etc. Happened to my A4 and i just followed instructions on a thread and replaced it - problem solved.
Of course, it could be other things...
The only sensible way to retrofit is to get a double side rear seat that has it and replace yours (though it needs to match fabric etc). Would have thought a breakers would have one. They arent that common as they were an option on A6's. I replaced my full interior (C5 rather than yr C6 model)...
