Picking up the vehicle tonight (hopefully after successful test), will ask them to show me the removed bushes but I'm sure they'll say they're already binned.
We'll see...
Have an A3 1.6 petrol SE with 48k on the clock in with dealer under the MOT complete offer for £99 (NI)
Just been phoned to say front wishbone bushes are showing wear & need replaced to pass MOT. Advised me that it's normal to replace complete wishbones instead of just the bushes (easier job)...
Looking for a few recommendations on independent servicing in Bangor or Belfast.
A3 1.6SE with ~43k on longlife needs oil service and plugs replaced. Have been sticking to Audi Belfast for all work since new as I was too lazy to go elsewhere.
Have come across Walsh Motors before and heard good...
yeah sounds like the same problem as mine - comes and goes, def less noticeable when engine has warmed up. makes me think its a sealing issue rather than something due to any holes that may be in the exhaust on purpose.
Id be interested to know if anyones heard the same reply from Audi dealer regarding strange noises coming from the exhaust system on A3 1.6 SE (102bhp) when started and revved from cold:
Dealer response:
Flat/wheezing noises come from two blowholes (or drainage holes) machined in the exhaust...
Thanks - i swallowed my pride and took it back in to Audi. They popped it out in about half an hour.
Their technician said it's the weight of the ipod that's the problem - the spring at the base of the card holder aint strong enough to push it back out. I'm not really believin him tho cause...
Does anyone know how to release a jammed card-holder (standard fit on 08 A3 1.6 SE)? It seemed like the perfect place to keep a video ipod when not in use but it's jammed the card-holder in the fully-in position.
