Sadly, I had to sell my S3 at the end of 2008 - This was the car bought by EssThree which he lavished untold quantities of the folding stuff to get it as Audi should have made it. DavidR then looked after for a while before I took ownership. Quite simply, it was the best car I have owned to...
I have exactly the same issue - Got myself VagCom which says it's the rear right ABS sensor - Which I spent an hour trying to remove this afternoon - It's a 5mm Allen Key head which is supposed to tightened to 8nm, but I can't shift it. Gave it a liberal spray of WD40 and left it for later :-(...
Well, I bit the bullet and bought a copy of Vag-Com (via another A-S member on Ebay). 2 minutes and I knew I needed a RHS rear ABS sensor. Great piece of software........
Anybody in or around Glasgow with a VagCom that can help me figure out which sensor is causing my ESP/ABS lights to come on at random - beer tokens await.......
I'm lucky that I've got access to another A3 that I can swap parts with, but no VAGCOM. So, I'll try both of these sensors and see what's what.
The power of t'internet - magic :-)
If it was, what would be the symptoms?
For me, the ESP and ABS lights come on at start from cold, and after about 10/15 mins, if I stop/start, they go out and stay out - occasionally come back on on bumpy roads, and the only way to clear them is to switch the ignition off/on. When the lights...
My S3 (2001) has an intermittent problem with ESP/ABS. Looking through the forum, it appears likely that the culprit is the Yaw sensor (1J0 907 657A). I've taken off the lower dashboard on both sides, but I cannot find the damn thing! Anyone know where it is?
MarkyB has one for sale, so at...
There are 3 plastic push through clips on the top of the bumper at the front of the engine bay and 2 phillips head screws on the underside. Have a bucket handy to catch the washer fluid when you disconnect the headlight washers
Well, despite the wet and windy trip back to Glasgow (158 miles of wet & dirty roads), it still looks fantastic. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't cheap, but like most things in life, you get what you pay for. The guys at PB are real craftsmen! Even chauffeured me to and from the train station...
IMHO, it does. I don't care what it looks like or if it's 'cool/not cool' for other ethereal reasons.
It's a fantastic driving tool which means it's cool (to me).
Ess Three Said "Which means it never breaks down. Never uses any oil, never blows engines up or wrecks gearboxes."
Having just driven one in the Britcar 24 hour at Silverstone, I have to disagree. Our newly rebuit engine ( dropped a valve in testing 2 weeks ago) used 8 litres of oil over the...
OK, the looks are subjective, but having driven one, on circuit, it is an awesome car. Sounds great, bullet proof brakes and the usual understated but high quality interior. As a drivers car, it's up there.

Welcome to the west end!
I saved this from a previous thread, but haven't got round to contacting the guy - If he's willing to come to Glasgow, I've got a set of wheels needing some attention....
"Anyway, called Chipsaway who sent out a chap called Richard Wallbanks. What a guy...
I was lucky enough to spend Sunday afternoon at Oulton Park driving one:-) When I started out the track was pretty dry and the car felt fantastic - the brakes coped with some serious abuse and only grumbled a little. The chassis was the first road going Audi I've driven that could be adjusted on...
