I was having the same debate although was looking at both A4 / A5 and Skoda superbs.. I drove the superb with the 1.4TFSI and is was perfectly fine for everyday use, I just know that for the few times when I want to open it up it would be missing that extra oommph.. We also have a 1.2TFSi yeti...

sorry for the thread hi-jack!! :-)
Thanks for that, i'm not a speed freak but do like a bit of poke.. i'm currently driving a 2.8 4motion passat.. with 3 kids and a dog it will be filled, so power may be an issue..
there are two deals I was looking at, both round 3 + 23 and 10k a year business lease

Looks great, I would like to know what the engine is like in such a big car.. some cracking lease deals on at the minute for the 1.4 TFSi in black edition..
More pics please :-)
Hi,
There are some cracking lease deals on at the minute for the A5 S-line with the 1.4 TFSi engine (150bhp) My only concern is that is it under powered in such a large family car? I had a 163bhp A4 1.8T B6 and my wife has the 1.2 TFSi in the yeti, which is fine up to 80 mph, but after that...
I'm such a vag tart.. it started many years ago something like this.. everything from 3 banger A2's to V8 S6's..
1996 Audi B5 A4 2.6
2001 Audi A4 B6 1.9 Tdi 130bhp
2003 VW Bora 1.8T sport
2001 Audi A4 B6 avant 1.9 tdi sport
2000 Audi S6 C5 4.2 V8
2003 Audi A4 B6 2.0 sport
2003 Audi A2 1.4 TDi...
I'm on my 4th B6, great motors are getting cheaper by the year.. I always stay within the VAG stable.. agreed as above, they will always look classy and with subtle led light upgrades etc they can look more modern.. better built than the newer ones too!!
I think it just needs filling.. it will throw the high pressure code with no gas in it.. Mine does the same in cold weather, it must try and force the compressor on to help clear the windows!! if you have VCDS you can check the pressure in the system.. should be around 4bar, but will be at 1bar...
It's not that cheap for all that's wrong with it.. It would need to be a good bit cheaper to make it worth your while.. Do you have access to VCDS? sometimes the roof just needs a manual reset and clear of the error codes.. also windows could just be a simple switch..
It hasn't done it again.. each time I wash it I put the roof up and down to check.. but it seems fine.. Could it be a sticky switch? Is there anyway I can check? or log with vag-com can I clean all the switches to be sure? or anything else you would recommend?
My choice would be a 1.9 Tdi 130bhp.. will go on forever if serviced and handiest on fuel.. I have had a 1.8T, 1.9 100bhp, 1.9 130bhp, 2.0 petrol and 4.2 V8.. 130bhp everytime for me..
PS.. 130's never gave great mpg 38-42 (I have owned 3 cars with this engine), best was the 100bhp I had in a...
Of course it can.. My brothers 1.9Tdi MK2 golf did me over in a 320bhp 2.7 S4 the other night.. I also used to give him a hard time with my 130bhp (with two tuning boxes) in his ST220 3.0 mondeo..
yeah, swapped them over and took it back the next night.. I complained to the DVLA and they refunded me the £18.50 re-test fee.. not too bad.. LED's back in now... I bought a set of Philips xtreme whites but they were awful looking.. pure yellow.. back to nice white now..
