Had this on A6, S6 and RS6. It's damn annoying and in my opinion is a design fault. It's usually cured temporarily by lubricating the channels, but over a time stresses the regulators and they need replacing and guess what.... before too long it all happens again.
I don't think the service plan is worth it. My RS6 is approaching 11000 miles, 5000 of which are mine and I certainly haven't screwed it, and I reckon I've got another 2-3000 miles on the tyres at the most. My Scooby did 15000 on its tyres so there seems to be some parity there. It might pay...
I've had my RS6 for 6 months now and no chips (touch wood!) A very different case from the Imprezza I had in 99. I reckon the Jap rocket's bodywork was made from recycled KitKat wrappers.
That's the one. I loved it- It was like selling a favourite pet when we took it in. (My wife was near to tears!) Had rarity value as in the two and a half years I owned it I never saw another and it was an ultimate stealth machine you could drive without attracting the wrong sort of attention...
You're right- it's a little hole for stashing stuff in. Mine has a little felt pad on the bottom which stops my ciggy lighter going orbital when I'm enjoying myself! Satnav controls are all on the centre console around the satnav screen.
It did with mine. Until it was fixed the only way I could tell how much fuel I had was to do mental arithmatic based on how many miles I'd covered and what the usual fuel consumption was. The fault is with the sender unit in the tank rather than the guage itself and it's pretty annoying to find...
The computer display is prone to fading. Had to have this replaced under warranty on my 2.8 Quattro Sport and the fuel gauge is a known gotcha too. This went on my S6.
I got an A4 diesel with only 120 miles on the clock at SKF Bolton- it was quite impressed, especially as when I took my Prdrive Imprezza in for the last service before I got rid the dealer gave me a Justy with 90000 on the clock as a courtesy car- now that was a truly awful car!
Get an S6 if you can find one. Your budget should get one 3-4 years old from a dealer. It puts a grin on my face whenever I drive it and I've had it 2 years now.
Anyone know how to change the repeater indicator bulb on the side of the front wing on my S6? I've looked in the handbook and all this advises for a faulty bulb is consult an Audi dealer!I don't want to remove the plastic splash trim under the wheelarch if there's another way of doing it.
The sender unit on my S6 has gone mad and either shows a full tank or an empty tank however much fuel is in there. Luckily, this happened two months bfore the warranty runs out, so no charge. The dealer mentioned that they had received info from Audi UK that this is not an isolated problem-...
Back in the Stone Age when the Ford Works team's rally car was the Group 4 Escort, the mechanics at Boreham used to upset the born-again Christian works driver Ari Vatenen by writing obscenities in the dirt on his car. They also used to tape pictures of nude men on the inside of the sunvisor of...
The best you will get is a five day forecast and those are not very accurate in my experience. The three day forecasts are better. The address for the Met office is below.
