Thanks for your post...very helpful. Yep, I forgot to mention that it's had oil+filter changes in between services too. I've heard of Waxoyl(ing) but thought that was best for older stuff e.g. 993s etc...will ask about that.

I was wondering whether anyone has any recommendations for undertaking some additional work alongside the LongLife Service my MY07 8P2 3.2 S tronic is due? It is at 55k/4yrs old. All standard + KW V3.
It had Spark Plugs, Haldex Oil and Filter and DSG Oil and Filter, Brake...
I get through to 3mm in 8k miles or so and then replace them (Goodyear Eagle F1 Assymetric 235/40/18)
A full alignment including proper corner weighting @ http://www.centergravity.co.uk/ might help.
Tyre pressure is important imo. I run 44psi all-round.
Mine are set on (3.2)
Both axles:
Rebound [3 clicks open/ 0.5 turn open]
Bump [1 turn open]
I had mine setup at PSI Tuning, Andy spent a lot of time trying to get it spot on, and did a great job.
(I had a shocking install experience by a firm that supposedly takes tuning seriously)...
I tried the 8P2 3.2 and 8P2 S3 when buying two years ago.
List price in Sept 07 for the 8P2 3.2 S line S tronic was £28820, 8P2 S3 manual £26995 (now about £28900 for 8P2 S3 S tronic).
The 3.2 sounded a lot better and throttle response was sharper imo....although the S3 is sharper dynamically.
I have KW V3. Absolutely brilliant when setup correctly....i.e. more comfortable than stock Sh1tline and much better dynamics.

It'll be a fantastic car, with similar straight line pace to E90 M3/ E60 M5/997S/RS4/R8 V8 etc....and scary cross-country pace.
A few months ago £40k would get you into a properly specified pre-registered E90 M3.
I got a price from DPM a while back I think. I'd go with KW V3 or maybe Intrax if budget isn't a concern.

It's a great car....understeery yes, but relatively quick and safe.
It's not a dynamically pure and rewarding car a la E87 130i, but A-B pace is impressive.
